...I had no where else to put it. Do you know when exactly kitten season is? I mean, I guess it's somewhere around this time, but I haven't heard of it until just recently.

Kitten season would basically be the springtime. BUT cats can get pregnant all year around and do not have to be in heat to get pregnant. So really, kitten season is all year arouhnd especially with the huge overpopulation problem.
"Kitten season" runs from May-October...however, in the southern states where it is warmer...kitten season exists all year long and just as Jen says...cats do still have kittens after kitten season.

Kitten season is year round, but seems most are born from spring till fall and not too many in winter.
Sometimes breeders will "time" litters so they have kittens old enough to show at certain times.

I heard the head of our foster agency discussing this with a vet recently. In her opinion, there is no longer a kitten season. We are in Illinois where the weather gets cool in the winter, but we seem to have loads of kittens turned in year round.
Hopefully with places like TCS teaching people, as the years pass we will have less and less kittens each season.
