Well I did have to put a towel over Pepsi's cage last night. It settled him right down. I'm wondering if it's too cold in here. He keeps shivering. I don't know if it's too cold or if he's still nervous.

Shivering would be nerves.
Birds puff up and perch on one leg when they want to conserve heat.
I will suggest that you put his cage (at night) in a quiet, cat-free room that isn't totally pitch black.
'Tiels are notorious for getting night frights at the slightest thing and if they cannot see to get back to their perch, they've been known to thrash themselves to death.
Tell him nite-nite, or good night as a ritual every time you put him to bed, they get the idea rather quickly that way.

Great.
Now I want a bird.
The man says "no way."

So, I'll pretend that your bird, is half-mine too alright?

I'll even send him stuff!
I used to have a cockatiel. I loved him lots, and he died after 2 years of having him. I dont know why, one night he just died.
He wasnt sick or anything. He was looking old though.
Well have fun with Pepsi!!

I so would have brought him home too. No doubt about it.

I have been thinking about getting a bird once i move into my apartment, but i am terribly scared about my kitties eating it and terrorising it!
I am better off buying a new aquarium

In a state of insanity :)
As long as the birds are in the cage I have no problems with the cats bothering them to much. Chynna likes to lay on top of Tweety's cage and sleep
thou she will stick her paw in the cage and try to get the bird but he just goes to the bottom of the cage.

That deal about the night terrors does happen sometimes with us. Usually it wakes me up and I go a check on the birds and make sure they are alright. The light I turn on lets them get back on their perch and go back to sleep.

They will do some flutter and squaking sometimes and Boomer likes to investigate what is going on with the birds.
I do have to get onto him for that. He is big enough to knock the cage around if he tried hard enough.

The bird might be cold too if he is not used to A/c so he might need to be covered up some until he gets used to it.

Enjoy your bird and just keep an eye on the kitties to see how they react to the bird. Maybe put the bird in a good size cage makes it harder for the kitties to get to the birds.
Hope this info helps some.

I was in the bathroom just now and DH was trying to get Pepsi to perch on his finger. We found out that Pepsi can sing "99 bottles of beer on the wall"

As we walk up there is a lady and her husband standing at the door of the pet store waiting for them to open. She has a cage with a Cockatiel in it sitting next to her. She looks at DH and I and says with broken english, "Free. You want?" Without even discussing it DH says "SURE!" (this is the same man who HATES animals

I just looked at our 4 yr old and asked "Well what should we name him?" He says "Hmmmm....PEPSI!". (I'm guessing it had to do with me having a 20oz Pepsi in my hand

The family you got him from were Mexican didn't you say?
I wouldn't doubt that the bird knows Spanish.

Got any High School Spanish to fall back on?
Have you tried telling him Hola! ?

He looks almost exactly the same as my "Angel" . I got Angel from my brother and his wife when they moved. (couldn't keep the bird ,but could go out and get 2 cats a dog and mice and rats. GRRRRR i was so angry at them. they never look after anything properly.)
He is a great bird . He gives kisses and says 'Angel' and 'Beautiful angel' and he wolf whistles(especially when a female bends over) he also whistles some little tune (not sure what it is) he also whistles for the dogs.
He is also constantly chatting up the budgies.
There is no way i will ever let them take him back . I plan on keeping him till his final days.

Yeah, but maybe they couldn't keep him for financial reasons, or something. Maybe they are trying to give him the best life he could have by giving him up...for whatever reason.

Her reasoning for giving him away was she was allergic to him. That's what the pet store told us. I guess she had called the day before to ask if they would take him
