Now I have some more questions!

1. What sort of sewing machine do you have?

2. Do you have a serger?

3. Do you quilt, sew clothing or both?

4. Do you like Gutterman or Maderia threads better?

5. What is your favorite thing to sew?

6. Do you like Threads' new layout/format? (I do, but I am only an average sewer!)

1. What sort of sewing machine do you have?
I sew on a Baby Lock Ellageo - the old one not the newest. I had a Brother PC 6000 for years and adored it and added a PE 150 about six years as a starter machine for embroidery. When I outgrew the PE150 I got rid of both ( sold them on ebay) and bought the Ellageo which has many more options than the PC and the PE together. And I use PE Design for editing designs and use LetteringPro Plus for a serious of fonts.

2. Do you have a serger?
I own two, both are Elna four threads. I had a coverstitch machine by Bernina but sold it as I didn't use it much. So at one time I had five machines in my sewing room and nowam down to three.

3. Do you quilt, sew clothing or both?
I dont quilt. I make my clothing and house linens and jewish ritual items and wearable art. ( scarves bags shawls etc)

4. Do you like Gutterman or Maderia threads better?
My favorite is Marathon polyester for embroidery. Gutterman for sewing.

5. What is your favorite thing to sew?
I don't have a favorite thing. But I must sew on fabric I adore or it can be a total drag.

6. Do you like Threads' new layout/format? (I do, but I am only an average sewer!) I adore the new layout, I love the old one too. Anything that highlights the fun and wonder of making something from scratch is great. I save every issue.

catfriend: it's a studio over the garage with windows on all walls and tons of overhead lighting. This is in part why we bought this house when we knew we wanted to move to Portland. and we have a huge basement with room for a workshop for my husband- who is a very handy guy to know. He can discuss Proust AND build decks. I dont know how cold it will be there this winter, time will tell. But the amount of space is great
go to

to see more of the studio if you like.

That is too funny (and too true!
) I'm no good at dreaming up questions, but I sure am enjoying your answers!
