    I've had 7 cats and 2 of them would NOT sit in a lap. Emma (a Siamese in a tortoiseshell coat) hated being picked up, would not sit in a lap but would join me in bed, demanded to be petted and slept next to my pillow. The 2 in residence at the moment keep me warm by sitting in layers on my lap.
