    Meowing at Night

My cat was recently diagnosed with Feline Interstitial Cystitis (FIC). It's basically irritation of the bladder caused by stress, here's some more info - Bladder Inflammation in Cats | Feline Interstitial Cystitis | petMD. It could be crystals or hyperthyroidism like others have mentioned but...

Rescue Cat Has Non Stop Diarrhea Along With Kennel Cough

Hi there, To me this sounds like stress. Being abandoned and at a rescue and then moving to a new home can be so stressful on cats as I'm sure you know. I've been dealing with some health issues with my cat that are caused by stress. The advice I've been given is this: 1) Keep the litterbox...

    Cat peeing blood

Hi all, So Cheese is doing much better after switching to wet food and getting painkillers from antibiotics from the vet. Thanks so much for all your help in this! I've been keeping his litterbox spotless (I now have four total for two cats), have a feliway plugin and I've been incorporating...

My girl cat peed on her cat bed... cat nip?

The one time I gave my cats cat nip one of mine did the same thing and peed right after! It seemed to be because of the cat nip but he's also been having some urinary issues so I'm not sure if that's why. But he did pee right in front of me just like you said, which is unusual.

    Cat peeing blood

Thank you so so much!!! Do you get the Purina and Royal Canin from the vet or can I buy that from a place like petsmart? I just got the science diet urinary wet food. I'll definitely try the chicken broth. I bet I need to get a water purifier of some kind because I'm in Colorado. I just got the...

    Cat peeing blood

Thanks so much! I'll get some wet food instead, that will make it easier to give to him. I've also read that putting water in their dry food helps? Thanks for the pic I'll ask my vet about that one too.

    Cat peeing blood

Really? Well I'm glad I'm getting the pain killers and antibiotics now. I'm hoping he'll just feel better after this, but I'll keep a good eye on him. He just went to the bathroom and he was licking himself and his "member" was out, does that sound like a UTI? I'm going to get some royal canin...

    Cat peeing blood

Thanks all! Just got back from the pet visit. She said she thinks he has Feline idiopathic cystitis (FIC). She recommended de-stressing his environment and changing his food to a food made for cats with urine issues. She was going to take a urinalysis but he didn't have any urine in his...

    Cat peeing blood

Hi all, My cat is peeing blood, I took him in a month ago because he was yowling and licking himself. The vet I went to said it was impacted bowels. I'm taking him to a new vet because I didn't feel like this vet listened to my concerns, I told her I thought he had a UTI. He's been going...

Worried about cat after dental surgery

The other vet was awesome! I said no to Metacam and Convenia. They gave me Buprenex in syringes for pain and Clindamycin to mix in his food. I just mixed it with wet food and he ate all of it. He's hiding a little which he never usually does. I think he's stressed from the trip but I think he'll...

Worried about cat after dental surgery

Thanks guys. Anything I can put in food would be great, it's much less stressful to give him meds that way. It's nice to have a list and know what's best for him. I don't understand why the vet would be this way, especially after I was concerned. He's very relaxed sleeping on the bed. I hope...

Worried about cat after dental surgery

I'll ask about the fentanyl pain patch and the Clavamox antibiotic. Are there any pain meds/antibiotics that I should avoid?

    Blood in poop

That sounds like a good call. They might, wouldn't hurt to ask. I completely understand my cats get so stressed and worked up.

Worried about cat after dental surgery

Thanks all. I've made an appointment with a vet I've seen before for tomorrow and I know she'll help him. I've posted reviews on google and yelp so hopefully that'll help others. I'll look into reporting them to the veterinary board. He seems ok, he's curled up in bed trying to sleep. I'll...

    Blood in poop

Hi catzorz, From this article- http://www.pethealthnetwork.com/cat-health/cat-diseases-conditions-a-z/should-i-worry-if-my-cats-poop-has-blood-or-mucus/page/0/1 - it looks like you should probably take her in. I haven't experienced this with my cats but I've had some irritable bowel issues with...

Worried about cat after dental surgery

Hi all, I had a bad experience today with a new vet. My cat cheese who's around 10/11 years (I rescued him and they estimated his age), needed some dental work. He's had a cleaning/extractions previously and I feel bad for not noticing his teeth sooner. I had taken him into the vet but hadn't...

    George's Poop Predicament

I refer to mine as brothers too even though they're not related lol (and I might refer to myself as their mommy). Looks like George has extra long hair too, hope the trimming further down his leg helps. Let us know how George is doing :). I'm curious to see what the vet says as well.

Typical length of time for a herpes flare up?

Hello! Sorry to hear Robin's feeling a bit under the weather. My cat Jello has the herpes virus and his left eye gets that runny reddish/brown discharge. Typically his flare ups will last several weeks, but unfortunately they return quite often. I've used l-lysine daily for years and it's...

    George's Poop Predicament

Oh! Also wanted to add- I would call the vet and see if they'd like a stool sample. My vet has asked for those in the past for testing and to see if there are any parasites in there. Wouldn't hurt to grab one and put it in several zip lock baggies to bring with you before the appointment.

    George's Poop Predicament

Hello! I'm also new to the site, wanted to share some things I've tried with my cat who has had the same issues. I know what you mean when you say it's not diarrhea but it sticks to their bottoms and is very messy. When I took him to the vet he was diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease. I...
