Nope, she's been on the same hard food since she was a kitten and she's had the soft food that we bought before. I figured she ate something funny too but the gagging made me think hairball, especially with all the grooming lately
Hey all, Olivia is under the weather and I can't help being worried. I have a vet appointment set up for tomorrow just in case, but does this sound like a hairball to you?
Gagging with some vomit this morning, mostly just clear liquid, barely anything at all. A couple loose stools and one bit...
My only question is: My sister said she hasn't noticed him snoring the past couple nights except he started to snore earlier today (he's still playing, eating, drinking, and the like). I guess I'm just paranoid. Could the change mean anything?
Thank you very much for this, my sister and I had a good smile knowing that Artie is doing well! And you also, my step dad has some sort of murmur too (all the interns at the hospital love hearing it lol).
The Shelter doesn't want to perform an echocardiogram, I think they don't want to put...
That is very true, they did say a specialist from a nearby city offered to drive down for Mr. Bean but I'm unsure what happened there. Thank you for reminding me that the little dude is lucky to even be here. I appreciate the reminder!
Thank you for the insight Geoffrey, I really appreciate it!
I've emailed my other kitten's vet to find out how much they would charge for testing. Besides the murmur the kitten eats well and has no other issues. Basically I'm annoyed because the Shelter could do testing they just don't really want to.. I feel as though they're just writing the poor...
They mentioned that but didn't suggest we go through with it as the vet said the last case she saw that was this bad only lived about six months further :/
Hi everyone!
My sister and I are looking at adopting Mr. Bean, a five month old kitten with a severe heart murmur. The shelter we're adopting from is reluctant to perform an x ray, saying that it won't determine anything of use. Basically we're going in blind if he survives his neutering this...
Thanks for the advice :) I did consider her food so I'm watching for that (I know any "fishy" soft food is nightmare sometimes lol so I try to avoid it).
About bathing: I did give her a bath yesterday after warming up the house and it went well! I mean she's not a huge fan but she's never one...
Sorry shoulda specified dirty litter lol. Right now I'm using a corn litter and it (surprisingly) smells quite nice! If she smelled of the litter I wouldn't have a problem
Olivia is about 10-12 weeks old and she's completely settled in at home and doing great. My only complaint is that she smells like litter box. I've checked her fur, paws, and bum and there's nothing stuck. The litter pan is clean (usually cleaned twice/day) and she doesn't play in it so that...
I know to feed in separate dishes, no worries. And if I do add water to dry it would only be out long enough to eat, I wouldn't allow it to sit all day. I had really hoped to do a strictly wet food diet but I simply don't have the money for it so I'll add in dry to ensure she has the right...
Thank you everyone ! Turns out I get my kitten this weekend (weather depending) and I'm so excited :) I'll be using all your suggestions and probably mixing hard food and soft (mostly soft, I may add water to the hard food like I did with my puppy, just to be sure she gets enough).
Thanks...
I don't have my kitten yet (not old enough to leave mom) but I'm getting everything together for when she moves home :)
I know that wet food is definitely the better food for cats (next to raw, but I'm going to be using wet food) but I can't for the life of me find the proper wet food to feed a...
