Struggling now with anxiety after putting Stanley down

Glad to hear things are going better for you! I am so glad that I had a treadmill stress test 1.5 years ago and all was fine, and so is the doctor. And I truly do believe that the majority of these issues is from the grief of losing our Stanley so suddenly and catastrophically. And I am sure...

Struggling now with anxiety after putting Stanley down

I've been a Broncos fan since 1973 when I was 12 years old in Pennsylvania, so yes I know how fanatical it is out there, especially the 1977 "Miracle" season, my favorite of them all although winning the Super Bowls rank high too! That is TERRIBLE to hear, you're right, she might still be alive...

Struggling now with anxiety after putting Stanley down

I actually went back and read a post that I put on here years ago in your thread, that helped me lol!! Thanks for this!!! And thanks to everyone else too. It is amazing how much pain and anguish it can cause you mentally and physically, and how a lot of the physical symptoms are actually due to...

Struggling now with anxiety after putting Stanley down

Yesterday was a month since we put Stanley down, and we both (mostly me) have been dealing with anxiety. Two weeks ago it was 80 degrees here and I was very agitated thanks to an issue with my parents in the nursing home and late in the afternoon went out to split some firewood, but I was in a...

Simba's still hanging in there, but Deb & I are struggling

His "routine" now consists of staying in the kitchen during the day, seeing what we have and will give him, but he likes to "hide out" in a little corner crook in the kitchen, he's not hiding because he doesn't feel good we think that he just likes this because he can still be in the kitchen but...

We had to put our Stanley down this morning

Thank you so much for this, the tears just flowed from me again.... The house is much more quiet without him, his presence and energy were everywhere, but he is still with us in spirit. But we can tell that he is gone, he was like a dog, everywhere, all the time, if someone came to visit he...

Romeo, 17 Years Later I Am Still Thinking Of You!

I am so sorry for your loss, I know how you feel. It is less than a month since we suddenly lost Stanley at only 10.5 years old to lung cancer, and last night at 3:30 in the morning it hit me hard and I just started to cry and we talked it out Deb & I, and I know that is how grief plays games...

Simba's still hanging in there, but Deb & I are struggling

We did talk to our vet about it many months ago, and she knows how years ago he had to be netted to get his teeth worked on and it was horrible, the woman who had many years of experience doing that said "I hope I never have to do that again", and she agreed with us it wouldn't be worth it...

Simba's still hanging in there, but Deb & I are struggling

Simba basically lives in the kitchen now, at least during the day, he stays in there and pushes us for food, we give it to him, he eats, but most likely it is because his thyroid is off, but as stated we're not going to take him to a vet at age 24, 25, 26, who knows? He's frail and if he would...

We had to put our Stanley down this morning

This morning I was making the bed and had the tv on like I usually do, and when I went to turn it off I heard a meow/cry from outside the closed bedroom door and it sounded just like Stanley. For a moment I thought maybe it was Sylvester but it didn't sound quite like him, and when I opened the...

Simba's still hanging in there, but Deb & I are struggling

For several days now, all of a sudden Simba is eating the wet food again, we are very pleased but also wonder why this turn of events. He had been yelling at us a lot for hamburger and chicken and pork, but ever since we had to put our little Stanley down Easter morning all of a sudden he is...

Anyone else feel the 4.8 magnitude Earthquake centered in New Jersey today?

I go to Bangor on a pretty regular basis to pick up a client who lives there, I work for Sights for Hope in Allentown, PA. and she is one of the farthest away clients that I pick up, takes me about 45 minutes or so to get to her!

We had to put our Stanley down this morning

UPS was here just awhile ago, Stan's ashes came home. We still cannot believe that is him in that box, it just doesn't feel right. But Stanley is home now, where he belongs :rbheart:

Anyone else feel the 4.8 magnitude Earthquake centered in New Jersey today?

At work here in Allentown, PA. and awhile ago I heard some rumbling, thought someone was moving stuff around upstairs but all of a sudden lots of workers talking about it, turns out it was a quake in New Jersey! I called Deb at home to make sure she was okay and she was, felt it too but thought...

We had to put our Stanley down this morning

Since we lost Stanley on Sunday morning: 1. We EASILY caught Sylvester to take him to the vet Wednesday morning for his haircut and checkup, it usually is a HUGELY stressful event chasing him down but it went probably as easy as it could've gone, and he had a great checkup. 2. Simba, our old...

We had to put our Stanley down this morning

I am so sorry for your losses, it really hits hard... My mom said the same thing to me about me regretting being gruff with Stan at times when he was pushing me, she said "he probably just thought "ha ha, I got him again!" whenever he made me nuts lol!!

We had to put our Stanley down this morning

Today we caught Sylvester and I took him to the vet for his haircut and checkup, it's usually a tussle and quite stressful but this morning it went like a breeze; I said outloud a few times "talk to him Stanley, tell him not to be scared, that he'll be alright and come home again", and he must...
