Do you live where poisonous snakes are? Once I thought my cat was bitten (I used to let him out unattended), but the I called my vet he said it was a cat bite and advised me to draw it out and put a topical on it. He probably got into a fight, but if the swelling doesn't go down, take him to...
I have a skittish female cat who does the same thing. The only time she allows me to have her in my lap is when I am in the recliner. No other time. The only place she likes to be petted is on the couter where the kitty treats are.
OOps. I didn't read the whole post. DO get your cat to a vet. He could have FUS and he might need to be put on prescription food and get meds.
His urine could be chrystalizing. If the problem ends up being chronic, there are herbal remedies you can use at the first sign of recurrence.

Get another box and put it in your room. That's the only solution. Use a good scooping litter (special kitty is good) and you won't smell it. Yes you'll have to clean the area often, and put plastic sheeting in the area around and under it. Your kitty is worth it.
I had the same health problem with my deceased cat. The vet prescribed Hill's Feline CD. The other cat started eating it and I had to separate them at feeding time. Do some net research because there are natural cat foods low in PH. But sticking with the vet advice is probably a good move...
P.S. I have tried to give Skadi more attention, but she rejects it, doesn't like being picked up and would prefer "food offerings." Which is why she's gotten fat. The only time she likes me is when I go near the kitty treats.
Hello! My name is Kelly, and I live in the Sierra Nevada foothills with my uncle and two cats (oh, there's an old d-a-w-g too, and a horse and a cow).
I was depressed when I first moved here, but after I got Skadi (my aby-calico female) from the pound, I perked right up. She's very skittish...
I am hoping this is only a cat treat issue. The treats are different kinds, but I guess the variety isn't such a good idea, even in such tiny amounts. This latest bout was after a week of eating temptations, which he loves. He only gets about 5 a day. I can't for the life of me fathom that...
Hi everyone: I have a 4 year old Manx cat (cute as a bug's ear) who is very robust and healthy. I did a great deal of research to find the best all around food for him. I chose Felidae. I had been told when I got him that Manx cats get "poopy" butt, but mine gets it almost once a month on...
