Cat with UTI symptoms, but no bacteria or crystals found?

With Butler, using a Feliway Calming collar, and a Feliway Calming defuser where he likes to mark has helped. I also use Nature's Miracle to clean the area really well, and I've bought some Angry Orange cleaner to spray the area to keep him from wanting to sniff the area too much (he doesn't...

Cat with UTI symptoms, but no bacteria or crystals found?

Yes he is! His urine has been tested three times since surgery and everything has come back clean. He's also had a few x-rays to confirm and they see no signs of stones in his bladder. We've got some behavior struggles in terms of him marking around our front door, but that's due to the mass...

Cat with UTI symptoms, but no bacteria or crystals found?

Butler is going great! The appointment with the surgeon uncovered that the stone was too big to try to dissolve with food and would probably result in another blockage, so he had to have surgery to remove the stone. After opening him up they found a second, much smaller stone that probably...

Cat with UTI symptoms, but no bacteria or crystals found?

Butler is home now. He had the catheter in for 48 hours where they gave him fluids and monitored him. Despite having a clean x-ray two months ago, they did a new x-ray to confirm the stone from the ultrasound and found a large one about the width of my pinkie finger. They said it's too big to...

Cat with UTI symptoms, but no bacteria or crystals found?

Another update: Despite having a negative urinalysis, and a negative x-ray, the emergency vet who put in the catheter said she is 90% positive she saw a bladder stone with ultrasound. He's now at my vet where they will assess him and decide his treatment from there.

Cat with UTI symptoms, but no bacteria or crystals found?

An update: Butler is at the emergency vet clinic tonight where they're going to be putting in a catheter to help drain his bladder as he's now completely blocked. I took him to the vet at 4pm for his 4th Adaquen injection and after bringing him home, he went to the litter box and proceeded to...

Cat with UTI symptoms, but no bacteria or crystals found?

I don't remember what his pH was, but I can call the vet to ask them tomorrow. The grain free food is "BFF Chicken & Tuna", and yes I add extra water to it. I also have dry food down for my other cat who prefers it, it's "Instinct: Rabbit". He nibbles on it a bit here and there, but he...

Cat with UTI symptoms, but no bacteria or crystals found?

So, we're back on this road again. Three weeks ago Butler started peeing blood outside of the litterbox again, despite having a cat fountain and now being switched to a grain-free wet food. I also give him Animal Essentials Tinkle Tonic twice a day and he's getting Adaquen injections once a...

Cat with UTI symptoms, but no bacteria or crystals found?

Hello! Just an update on Butler.  Turns out his urine was "too concentrated" and the vet suggested getting a water fountain to entice him to drink more water.  I got the Catit water fountain and my cats love it!  They're drinking loads of water now and his bladder problems seem to have cleared...

Cat with UTI symptoms, but no bacteria or crystals found?

Hello! Yesterday morning, my 2 year old cat  "Butler" started exhibiting signs of a UTI, so I called the Vet the moment I noticed.  He was trying to urinate a lot (not straining) and after a few hours of waiting for his appointment he started to have bloody urine.  They took a urine sample from...

I think my cat just ate a whole Q-tip...

Thanks for the advice.  I can certainly give my vet a call in the morning and I also have plans to give her some metamucil with the wet food.

Ongoing diarrhea in 6 month old kitten

Your case sounds very similar to my cat's problems when I first got him: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/305730/kitten-with-horrible-diarrhea-for-a-month We did all the fecal tests and blood work and everything came back as normal.  None of the medicine or probiotics helped.  Even the metamucil...

I think my cat just ate a whole Q-tip...

Luna, my 3 year old girl, occasionally fishes Q-tips out of the trash and chews on the cotton ends.  Normally this isn't a problem, but this evening, when I was folding laundry, I spotted her chewing on a white "arced" stick.  When I went to go get it from her, she high-tailed it out of the room...

My kitten is turning into a terror!

Yes!  We have a Ssscat system, but are waiting for the refill to be delivered.  We used it to train him to not jump onto the bathroom sink (which he use to poop in when he had diarrhea).  And after one spook, he never ventured up there again. I know I mentioned in an earlier post that this...

My kitten is turning into a terror!

Just got back from the vet with Luna, my other cat and she's being treated for a UTI.  I asked about Butler, the kitten's behavior and they said I should continue to use the squirt bottle.  The nurse who was helping the vet use to work for a behavior specialist and he was an advocate of the...

My kitten is turning into a terror!

Perhaps I should have clarified things a bit more. - I play with him until he is panting, 3 times day - After each play time I put him in his own room where he eats a high protein, raw diet meal and I leave him in there for about 30 minutes to decompress, etc. - We have 5 litter boxes.  2...

My kitten is turning into a terror!

One and a half months ago we adopted a 4 month old, neutered, tuxedo kitten from the shelter.  We found out the hard way that he has an intense food intolerance and has to be on a raw diet or else he gets explosive diarrhea...

Kitten with Horrible Diarrhea for a Month

Thanks for the response, Ruth! The worms should be out of his system by now.  He had soft stools up until 4 days ago.  After reading an article talking about helping a cat with diarrhea, it stated to not free-feed the cat, but instead feed him 2-3 meals a day for 20 minutes each.  That way he...
