Why Didn't My Vet Put Him To Sleep?

Just want to throw my agreement & 2 cents in here - if you had gone ahead and had him PTS right then, even if the vet had suggested it, or called in the middle of the night and had to have him PTS, as soon as it happened, you probably would have had so much more guilt and second-guessing...

    Remembering Persian Mobile ( Angel ) The Blind Abused Persian: February 22, 2003 - September 5, 2017

I came here from your post To Love Again. I just wanted to say, wow. What a short time between the first diagnosis and her passing. I'm so happy for you that you were able to hold her at home as she passed. We had to put down our TC and we didn't know home visits for that were an option, so it...

    To Love Again?

I'm with you. After my TC died in August 2015 of intestinal cancer I knew there would never be another like him. He was of all the cats and pets I've owned, special, and we just had a special bond. But I knew that I still wanted that companionship, and just yeah the house was so lonely...

Does Maeby's spay incision site look infected or worrisome?

Thanks, y'all!  The area isn't noticeably warm although I haven't taken her temp yet. It does have some seepage/discharge, though. I'll keep a close eye on her throughout the weekend.

A few questions about resident kitten and new kitten interactions

Just wanted to update this in case anyone was reading: Maeby did grow out of the biting frenzy phase, but she is definitely just a bite-y cat in general. She seems to equate biting with love; her preferred way of greeting Tuxie, whom she adores, is to rush at her full-speed and bite her right in...

Does Maeby's spay incision site look infected or worrisome?

My 6-month-old kitten Maeby  was spayed on Monday, 11/16. They put a sticky bandage on the site like so  & said to keep an eye on the incision and if she got off the bandage the first day, to keep an eye and make sure she's only licking, not biting at the incision site. And to bring her in...

A few questions about resident kitten and new kitten interactions

Thank you! I needed the reassurance! I'm hoping that Tux will eventually start mothering her, but I know apart from trying to introduce them as easily as possible, it's just a matter of chance what level of kitty friendship they end up having. Right now, Tux seems insecure in her kittenhood and...

A few questions about resident kitten and new kitten interactions

Background story:  (skip down to questions if you want) We adopted Tux, a 4 month old black and white kitten, from a rescue group just before Christmas. Tuxie She's seemed very sociable right from the start, took to strangers in the house fairly easily, adapted us and our ways quickly (she's...
