I'm so glad he's doing better! It sounds like he's healing well. I know it's a lot of work to care for a kitty that's recovering. You're doing a great job!

    Black Lumps in Ears

Aww, poor guy! That cone looks really nice. That was a great idea. Can you call the surgeon and ask how to clean his ear?

    Black Lumps in Ears

It sounds like you've found some good ways to make him comfortable and happy. The soft cone makes sense, and I would think that would help. It looks like he's healing well!

    Black Lumps in Ears

I have no idea why I didn't get the notifications. I did get one tonight! I'm glad to hear that Zeus was able to settle down and is getting some sleep. It is so stressful to go through things like this with our kitties! I am thinking of you and am hoping you can get some rest.

    Black Lumps in Ears

I hadn't seen any of your latest updates because I wasn't receiving email notifications like I usually do! I'm so glad he's home and doing well, but it looks like it's going to be challenging to take care of him with the cone and confinement. You are doing a great job with him! Keep us updated!

    Cat Only Eating Baby Food

Ok, I'm convinced to try the Canna-Pet now :) My vet actually suggested that as an alternative, since my cat also developed a tolerance for Mirtazapine after it worked great for 2 years. I tried Cyproheptadine, but it worked no better than the Mirtazapine, and made my kitty too sleepy. I was...

    Cat Only Eating Baby Food

So sorry to hear about your kitty Tiger! My kitty is on Cerenia & Zantac as well. She actually doesn't seem that nauseous, and has a fairly good appetite considering her issues, but only for baby food! I have tried almost every brand of cat food there is, including Max Cal, and she'll only eat a...

    Cat Only Eating Baby Food

My cat has been only eating baby food for some time now. I have tried everything, including appetite stimulants, to get her to eat cat food, but it doesn't work. My cat has CKD, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and anemia, so I pretty much have to give her whatever she'll eat. However, I'm worried...

    Lactulose and hypercalcemia?

My cat was diagnosed with Idiopathic Hypercalcemia 5 years ago. I switched her from Lactulose to Miralax, and the problem never returned. However, I also started aggressively treating her IBD at the same time, so I am not sure if the uncontrolled IBD or the Lactulose caused the Hypercalcemia.

    Black Lumps in Ears

I also forgot to mention that my cat's ears were previously itchy & waxy. My vet recommended using Zinc Otic, 2x a week, and it really cleared up her ears & stopped the itching. The Zinc Otic is a mild cleansing solution that you drop directly into the ear. It's another tool to try :)

    Black Lumps in Ears

My cat has had these types of cysts in her ears for many years, but she only has a few at a time and they are smaller. My vet calls them inflammatory cysts, and since they don't really bother her, we have not removed them. Prednisolone is the most common treatment for inflammation, and my cat is...

    SubQ Fluids Causing Overhydration

It took her at least 24 hours to process the fluids. She has never been diagnosed with a heart problem. Part of the problem is that she was on a steroid, and we increased the dosage. Of course, steroids can cause fluid retention as well. For whatever reason, she couldn't handle all the fluids we...

    SubQ Fluids Causing Overhydration

I began giving my Tigger 75ml SubQ fluids, 2 days on, then one off a week ago, due to a Creatinine level of 4.9. Her Creatinine went down to 3.0, but she stopped eating and became extremely ill. I noticed that the last time I gave her fluids, they weren't absorbing. I notified my vet, who...
