    How smart are cats?

Update: They won't stop. They eyeball the monitor...walk around it...sniff it and still try to land on the one inch surface. I have placed a couple of small pillows and a piece of heavy foam behind the monitor.

    How smart are cats?

How smart are cats? My cats [Nipper and Tucker…aka Nip and Tuck] have always enjoyed the proximity and warmth of my computer monitor. http://home.mchsi.com/~trhomerun/nipandtuck.jpg Several days ago I purchased a new flat panel. They were, of course, very interested in the new acquisition...

    UTI -- Any Suggestions?

The vet has taken her temperature 3 times…normal. I find it hard to believe stress is a factor. She is about 2 ½ years old and I have had her for 2 years. Her environment has not changed and other than the straining and lack of urine she seems very normal. She is just over 24 hours into the...

    UTI -- Any Suggestions?

Not quite sure how to answer that question as I am a relatively new 1st time cat owner. Compared to my other cat, the answer would be yes. She is the type that likes to be close but not touched. Spends about 75 per cent of her life on top of the computer monitor, in the chair beside me, or...

    UTI -- Any Suggestions?

Nipper update: The vet offered 3 possibiliies: Continued medication, an ultrasound or exploratory surgery. Since the medication has provided at least temporary relief, we decided on a 7 day run of prednisone (5 mg) and an additional 14 days of Zeniquin (25 mg).

    UTI -- Any Suggestions?

    New Cat Introduction

Nipper and Tucker (aka Nip & Tuck) I have never owned cats before…always a dog person. I have always disliked other people's cats but decided I didnâ€8482t want the responsibilities associated with another dog and decided to give a cat a try. Tucker is a 1 year old male that I got from the...

    Not Eating and Drinking

A Rescue League cat (Nip – 1 year old) selected me 2 weeks ago last Sunday. She didnâ€8482t eat or drink and started sneezing. I took her to the vet and she diagnosed a cold. Nip received a shot of subcutaneous fluids and about 5 days worth of amoxidrops. I could only get her to eat canned...

    New Cat's Health

My new cat, Kitley, selected me at the Rescue League on Sunday. She is active and loving. She had a brief check-up and rabies shot at the vet on Monday. Now for the problem. She has not eaten much in her 4 days with us. The previous owner fed 9 lives dry and the Rescue League fed Royal Canin...

    Cat Introduction

I am a first time cat owner. My little guy is a neutered male about 9 months old that came from a local shelter. He has been with me for 3 months and is perfect in every way. I have been considering getting him a playmate. I have found one that I like but I am concerned about the "horror"...
