UPDATE: Since we've had Butch on a strict diet of Natures Instinct limited rabbit formula soft & dry along with changing the litter to "The Worlds Best Litter" I think the ulcers are under control. He's had a few pop up one at a time, but they go away in 2-3 days. So I'm guessing it's a diet...
Diet: Instinct just came out with a rabbit limited canned so we got some of that along with the rabbit limited kibble also.
Lysine: 435 X 2 daily for maintenance.
The Vet hasn't said anything about testing and taking him in would just cause another sever flare up so I try to avoid it unless...
He doesn't paw, lick or scratch at it, at all so I don't think he's even aware of it. I think it kicked in when he had a bad herpes flare up, and it's just ongoing since then. One disappears and then another one shows up. I'm picking up some Instinct limited tonite. It has:
(Rabbit Meal...
Mrsgreenjeens – I think I've read every site out there and I've tried several different things just trying to get this over with. Since he has herpes he gets lysine every day and has been since we adopted him early this year. We feed him Primal raw rabbit mixed with a little Instinct boost which...
This sounds all to familiar to me from Jan 2014 thru Oct 2014. I recommend they take x-rays of his bladder to make sure there are not stones imbedded into the bladder wall. I lost my beloved Oliver from this last year. We followed his diet to the letter but it returned later on in the year...
Butch, who is a little over 10 month has been dealing with rodent ulcers since 3-12-15 & it's not a flea issue. He's had a few depo shots at first and since it didn't go away, just pop up in a new spot we did the following:
Removed all plastic bowls, dishes, plates, & toys. Also all blankets...
Have you tried the pheromone diffusers for cats? I have one kitty with herpes, and this has really helped calm him down. Our home is 1,000 sq ft and I run two of these units on a timer that runs 15 min on then 15 off. They also make a collar so where ever your kitties goes it should make them...
For added water consumption try placing several water bowls around the house and don't use tap water. We only use RO since you can refill bottles at Whole Foods for 36 cents a gallon. We feed canned, then they get a second meal with dry kibble that has warm water on it to soften it up a...
"hey" to all the cat crazy people, yes, I am one of your kind, have been for over 40 years. I've been lurking through the rodent ulcer threads since Butch (blue/white) has been dealing with one since March of this year. Just when it looks like it's clearing up while on prednisolone another...
