    What could have happened?

I'm so sorry for your loss of Ruffles, and it's difficult when it is so sudden. Thinking of you, and hoping time will help your grief heal.

So hard to lose a feline baby

I'm so sorry for your loss. We lost one of our cats last week, and it helped me and my husband to talk about him -- how he looked, things he did (good and "bad", because some of those "bad" things were the most endearing). Remind yourself how happy Levi was, and, if you believe that there's an...

    What kind of worm/parasite?

Oh, one other thing. Cats often need TWO treatments to fully get rid of worms. That's what happened with my cats. They had one treatment and pretty much right on schedule a month later -- more worms. I guess that's how long the life cycle of the larvae is.

    What kind of worm/parasite?

Hi -- I don't know about your vet, but I know that when my rescue kittens had worms, I didn't have to bring them in for an exam. I just took a sample (either from the litter box or an actual worm) in, and they checked it out and gave me the meds. If that's not an option, get in touch with the...

In need of some canned food advice

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I've tried a couple of different Merrick flavors and Thanksgiving Day was this morning's attempt. At first it seemed like Fergus would go for it -- he actually ate some, but then he decided he didn't like it after all. I even tried sprinkling some bits of...

Does Anyone else have a cat do this?

I had a cat who not only slept under the covers, but settled himself down on the small of my back! He now lives with my brother and sister-in-law, and he still sleeps under the covers when it's cold. My mom's cat like to sleep on the pillow, curled up at the top of my mom's head. SIlly kitties!

This is it! We have to diet!

Hey, Caprice -- sounds like you've got quite a big guy on your hands. I was looking back at the thread and your first post said Mittens weighed 24 pounds, 11 ounces, and then the update last Friday was 24 pounds. If he lost 11 ounces in one week, that's almost 5% of his body weight. Quite an...

    Hi, I'm New, Too!

Thanks to all of you for your welcome and support about Nummy. It's still hard to believe that he was sleeping in our bed Tuesday morning, and gone just a couple of hours later. Once we've gotten over the shock of it all, I'll put a memorial in the Rainbow Bridge area. You kind words are very...

    Hi, I'm New, Too!

Found your site today, looking for some information on dealing with loss and also finding new food. My husband and I lost one of our kitty boys to lymphoma yesterday. He was very young (only 1 1/2), and I'm trying to find ways to make sure that our remaining guys stay healthy, including giving...

In need of some canned food advice

I'm trying to switch my cats to a "pet store" brand of natural canned cat food, but running into a problem with one of my picky boys. Fergus will only eat food that is in chunks, slices or shreds. If I try to get him to eat canned food that's ground or pate-type, he gives me a very dirty look...
