thankyou for your advice! This is my first cat and i seriously worry about him more than the kids ;) they can at least tell me whats happened!! I will attempt to soak it.. he is currently sound asleep so i may be able to restrain him before he fully wakes!! I will post an update after a vet visit..

It is not bleeding profusely and he seems to be cleaning it..should i traumatise both him and me or will it be ok overnight?? what will the vet do other than antibiotics? Do they put a cast on if bones are.broken etc?

He wont let me actually touch it.. he is happy for me to cuddle and is acting normal other than not using that foot.. i dont think he will willingly let me soak it! My biggest concern is that there was definately no wound before now.. could this be caused by swelling?

My kitty came in with a swollen foot 2 days ago and he wont put any weight on it. He wouldnt let me get too close but i couldnt see any abrasion etc and kept monitoring him. I have no idea what has happened.. Today it seems there is a puncture wound which was definately not there this morning...

i am still in the grooming process but our kitty has trained us to walk back upstairs to retreive him on command (meeooow) still unsure why he cant just follow us since we often find him downstairs without us?!

Haha..exactly! Reassure us we can do this and we are not harming precious kitty! My daughter named her Rosie but a friend tells us she thinks she is actually a boy.. so.. fail number 1.. we have a boy cat called Rosie.. can only go up from here haha

Luckily there is mostly someome home here. She meows if we walk downstairs for more than 5 minutes which usually results in someone going to fetch her..i could only imagine her cries when we all leave! I literally stress about over feeding or underfeeding.. is she drinking enough..is she chewing...
