Has/is anyone using Transdermal gel Prednisone for their cats?

Your cat shouldn’t be able to clean the hairless part of the inside of her ear but if she does she may be better off because we know that pred is absorbed well when it goes through the gut. I didn’t know that cerenia works as a transdermal. We’re using transdermal mirtazapine for appetite...

Has/is anyone using Transdermal gel Prednisone for their cats?

Hello all, This thread is almost 5 years old, but I can't find any other forum posts regarding prednisolone transdermal. My cat Bolder is 10 years old and has been diagnosed with either IBD or lymphoma. He is extremely difficult to pill so we have been using transdermal prednisolone from a...

I have just found out that my kitten is an African Wildcat, Felis silvestris lybica

She could be going through a growth spurt and is just hungry all the time.   Also, if she has worms the loss of nutrients might make her hungrier. I've been taught since I was a kid not to feed chicken bones to cats or dogs because they are sharp and can pierce mucosal membranes or intestine...

I have just found out that my kitten is an African Wildcat, Felis silvestris lybica

I haven't precisely followed what medications you've given her, so I haven't researched those meds to see which worms they treat.  Personally I think it's risky to give her medication unless you are sure that she actually needs that medication and you are sure of the dose, especially in kittens...

I have just found out that my kitten is an African Wildcat, Felis silvestris lybica

Goat milk and cow's milk both have lactose.   Yogurt bacteria partially consume or convert the lactose to simple sugars. Many people who are lactose intolerant can eat yogurt.  Goat milk is more digestible for some who have cow's milk allergies, possibly because of the smaller fat globules or a...

I have just found out that my kitten is an African Wildcat, Felis silvestris lybica

Would yogurt be good for her?   I wonder if the cultures in it might help her tummy.  I know the diarrhea is from worms but maybe the cultures might help with replacing some of  what is lost.   Also it has a high water content and calcium.    By the way, the guy, Scott,  who fought with me...

    Black Cats Only

My Nickie Noodle, she was found as a kitten crawling on a beam at a construction site, eyes still closed, and brought to a vet to be euthanized.   I became her "mommy", fed her with a bottle, taking her with me everywhere.  The hardest part was keeping her warm.  When she opened her eyes for the...

I have just found out that my kitten is an African Wildcat, Felis silvestris lybica

Hello Segelkatt,  Yes, I completely forgot about those spot-on flea treatments.  It's been a while since I've had to deal with fleas.  My current cats are miraculously immune to fleas. I have a formerly-stray mother cat and 2 of her "kittens"  (now 7 years old). Momma cat is 15.  She still lets...

I have just found out that my kitten is an African Wildcat, Felis silvestris lybica

She is adorable.   I wouldn't feed raw meat because of the possibility of parasites.    Someone mentioned profender for worms -- I used that on my cats, but in the US it is only available from a vet.  It is a "spot-on" topical treatment, dispensed in vials of different sizes depending on the...

Kitten raises her bottom when she goes pee which leads to urine outside the litter box

Hi, I'm wondering how this played out for you.   Does Maia have "elevator butt" (a term I learned from Jackson Galaxy on Animal Planet) where the cat's hind feet actually come up off the floor?  I saw a box online that was enclosed except for a hole in the top (called a "top entry" box).  I...
