    Cold sores?

Thanks Hissy: I never thought of that. Yes he is an indoor cat, but our house was built in 1907 so there are a few spiders and bugs around. You're probably right. I have already noticed today that it looks a lot less inflamed, so I think it will go away on it's own. Thanks again. Didn't...

    Cold sores?

Is it possible for cats to get cold sores? My cat seems to have an imflamed, red, slightly swollen area in one corner of his mouth. It doesn't seem to bother him. He lets me touch it and doesn't react. He is also eating just fine. It seems to be bothering me more than him. Should I be worried?

    Fun Test

Here are my results although I'm not sure I'd agree with them. This just in! Kitty subject is known to be lazy and large. Suspected incarnation of Jabba the Hut. Feed with caution. My cat is neither lazy nor large, so...

    Vegetarianism ?

I guess I'd be somewhere in between. I love my veggies, but I also eat fish, seafood and chicken. I don't eat beef however. I think it's because I grew up on a farm where the cows were in the pasture next to my horse. I just found it really hard to eat what I had been petting the week...

    Kitty Cuisine

I swear I have one of the strangest cats in the world. He knows his dinner time and promptly lets us know when it's his dinner time. However he won't eat when we feed him. He needs to wait at least an hour before he will come back and eat. It's as if he just wants to know it's there! Also...

    Truce???

Glad everything's working out Cleo. Reminds me of when I brought my second boy home. I have 2, one is 8 and the other is 4. It took awhile, but before I knew it, the older one was bathing the little one and believe it or not around 5 weeks old he started carrying the little guy over to the...

What do you love most about where you live?

I have to agree with everything Blue said, as we're both in the beautiful Okanagan in BC Canada. The sun is shining, the lilacs are in full bloom and summers just around the corner. I too was born and bred here and my whole family lives here as well. I have travelled some and can truly say...

You Know Your A True Cat Person When...

I too am guilty of all of the above, especially #4. Of course my cats understand everything I say. The only one I kinda disagree with is #1 and this is only because I don't put a bowl of water next to the sink, see my boys just jump up next to the sink, meow, and then when I turn it on, they...

    Ideas For Homemade Kitty Toys??

Believe it or not, I have catnip growing wild in my driveway. Of course I never knew this until my 2 cats pointed it out to me one day (but that's a whole other story). One of the best toys I make for my boys is taking an old sock and cutting it off around the ankle. I stuff it with catnip...

    Hi I'm New here

Welcome Logan: My hubby always said "NO CATS" for years, but I finally broke him down and now we have 2. And sometimes I wonder who cares for them more, me or my hubby. They just can't help but grow on you. Again welcome to the forum. I personally am new here as well and in 2 short days...

    Wylie's trip to the vet

Just think of it this way Bookitty, he may look at you as "evil" for a couple days, but in the long run you're probably adding years to his life by doing this, so I think it's a fair trade. I'm sure everything will be just fine. I too have gone through this too many times to count and it...

I got a sweet tooth today

Hey Blue: Glad you're enjoying that beautiful Okanagan sunshine. I had a great day out with my mom today. Went shopping and out for lunch in Westbank. Cause I'm in Kelowna and she's in Peachland we meet half way. I have been reading around this forum and see you are quite the poet. I...

    Hello

Hey Anne where are you? Kelowna (and Penticton) are only a couple hours from the border so we're actually southern Canada if there is such a thing! We actually have some of Canada's warmest weather here so it's not too bad. Don't get me wrong, we've had some nice dumps of snow here as well...

    Hello

Howdy neighbour! I actually spent the first 8 years of my life in Penticton and then moved to Westbank till I was 18, them moved into Kelowna. My folks currently live in Peachland and my grandma still lives in Penticton. We used to live on Cossar Ave. behind the Plaza and I went to Carmi...

    Hello

Thank you all for the warm welcome. As far as the names, Sneezer had a cold when I brought him home from the SPCA (actually all the cats at the SPCA had a cold) hence his name. And Pepper had a sister named Salt so that's how he got his name. Kinda neat how they go together though. They...
