My 1 1/2 year old cat is starting to get hairballs. We think she's a Maine Coon mix, but have no real way of knowing, since she was born feral. She's got what I'd call a medium length coat, and I know it's important to brush them every day - she just hates it.

I've never had to go through a kitty pregnancy, but another user had a similar experience. My best advice would be to get a vet's opinion. I hope there's something in this thread that helps you.

I tell Smokey "no faces", "soft paws" or "ouch, that hurts mommy" (sometimes I'll say "uncle" haha) when she gets a little too rough with me. She doesn't readily scratch dh or our friends, just me, but she always backs off when I ask her to.
Our kitty came to us from a former coworker of mine. Her parents have a feral that keeps having babies under their deck, so they adopt the kittens out since they haven't been able to catch big momma to do a TNR. She's a fuzzy bundle of love and we're incredibly lucky to have her in our lives...
