    Post-surgery question

Hello, it's been years since I've been on this site and in that time my babies have generally enjoyed good health. But since we moved to FL a year ago, it's been one thing after another with my orange tabby, Gator. Gator had surgery on Thursday to remove a tumor on his back the vet said was...

    Vaccines by mail?

Thanks for the help. I did see where I could have ordered them from Drs Foster and Smith online, but not for shipping to APOs and definitely to Iraq if they have to be cold. There is no way to guarantee arrival times with the military postal service.

    Vaccines by mail?

Well that's a problem. You can't ship overnight to Iraq. But thanks for the suggestion.

    Vaccines by mail?

It does make them feel better. My DH is always telling me how guys are making excuses to drop by his room and than cooing over the kittens. Even the guy who is scared of cats has come by to check on their progress. There are few things cuter than a kitten.

    Vaccines by mail?

My husband is deployed in Iraq. His team sort of inherited a couple of cats the previous unit had taken care of. One of the cats had kittens a month ago and my husband would like to have them vaccinated-and, incidentally, the mom spayed. Unfortunately the Army vet there says it's not in her job...

    Bad Acting!

A lot of older shows do tend to have noticably bad writing/acting. For my money though, David Caruso on CSI: Miami is the worst actor, period.

    Grammar Pet Peeves

I'm in grad school. In the class that just ended we had to do peer reviews. A woman submitted the most horrible work, riddled with grammar and spelling errors and none of her sources were cited correctly. I tend not to sweat things as much on forums, but I just could not believe she thought her...

Help from members in Germany please

I recently (in April) moved to Germany. I live in Baden-Wurttemburg near Herrenberg. I was wondering if there are professional pet sitters here in Germany and how I would go about locating one. I have two cats. Thank you, Erin

Selling House - Showing with Cats

I just sold my house. I only have two cats. We either tried to take them with us, which rarely happened, or just confined them to the basement. Occasionally, the house was shown with them roaming around. We did move their litterboxes and dismantled one of them. Then I did a thorough cleaning of...

    Car or plane?

I did have my paperwork checked once on a flight. No one has ever weighed or measured the cats or their carriers though. I just finished a move. Gator, who cries the entire 30 min trip to the vet, was fine once we got on the highway. He's fine in a plane too. I think they prefer it as they get...

    We made it to Florida

My Dad and I completed the drive from CO to FL. Seamus, Gator, and Maxie are all fine and were such champs on the drive. Gator, who usually hates the car, was especially good. He only cried on the stop and go portions, once on the highway, he was fine. The cats were certainly glad to get to my...

    Your cats tale....

Seamus has a long, graceful, tabby tail with a white tip. He likes to sit with it curled around his front legs. When Gator first came to us as a kitten, Seamus used to tease Gator with his tail. Gator's tail is about half the length of a normal cat tail. We're not sure what happened to it. The...

    The movers start packing Friday!

We think three years. But the US is restructuring some of its armed forces, so we're not 100% sure right now.

    The movers start packing Friday!

No. The U.S. and Germany have an arrangement regarding servicemembers' pets, they need yearly rabies shots more then 30 days before travel, a USDA stamped health certificate in english and german, a iso compatible microchip, another health certificate 10 days before travel, and I think they need...

    The movers start packing Friday!

They're coming with us. Their paperwork is at the USDA for the all important stamp. My hubby should be getting the airline tickets this week, so I can arrange for their travel. It's early enough that with luck they'll be able to fly in the cabin. Both have flown before, and for all that Gator...

    Lets talk birth control ladies...

I didn't really think it hurt that bad when they inserted it. I did some deep breathing and that helped. I was supposed to take motrin 45 mins beforehand, but didn't. I did have cramping afterwards, but not bad enough to interfere with my day. I continue to have mild cramps periodically, but...

    The movers start packing Friday!

The army took us to Colorado. Now we're off to Germany. But not til April. In the interim, since we've sold our house, I'm going to stay with my folks in FL and my hubby is in school in NC. Thanks for the good vibes. Seamus has made the cross country trip before and he's more of a car ride...

    The movers start packing Friday!

Hooray! I'm in the home stretch. Packing days are Friday and Monday. Then they pick up Tuesday. The only bad part is that my husband is gone already so I'll have to keep track of the kitties, dog, and make sure everything is packed correctly. Hopefully one of my friends will be able to help. I...
