    Two questions

I have a couple of questions about my kitties. Some of you may remember me posting about Taz & Cuddles.....their mom was a pregnant stray. Well she found a home (and so did the female kitten) and then our oldest cat Pepper passed away, so we decided to keep Taz & Cuddles. They are almost 14...

So... how do YOUR cats act when it's dinner time? Lol!

Isabella, the oldest, is usually very patient. But the two kittens, Taz & Cuddles, are not patient AT ALL! They wake us up in the morning and remind us about 1/2 hour before dinner time in the evenings. They jump around and act nutty until their food is in the bowls.

    Litter Training

I had the same questions as you a couple of weeks ago. My foster kittens are 7 weeks old now, and just the other day started to use the litter box on their own. What I did was put them in it after every nap and every meal. Of course, they'd just jump right out but I'd keep putting them back in...

    kitten question

I wasn't sure which board to post this on, so please move it if it's in the wrong one. Angel's kittens are 7 weeks old today. I am unsure what to list them as, whether they are orange tabbies or buff colored. They have all darkened in color considerably since birth. Also, is there a way to tell...

6 weeks old and won't even try food

Thanks for the advice! They are with their mom and they watch her eat and use the litter box all the time. Last night I thought I would try giving them a little tuna fish. That did the trick with two of the kittens, they practically inhaled it. So today, I mixed a tiny amount of tuna with some...

6 weeks old and won't even try food

My foster kittens are 6 weeks old today. For the past two weeks I have been attempting to get them to start eating on their own with absolutely no luck. The "oldest" male (born first in the litter) will sniff at the food and will lick it a little bit or maybe take one tiny bite before he goes to...

    Cat becoming very agressive

Yes, she's been seen by the vet. She is healthy, and the vet has no idea what may be causing the agression. The only thing he could say is, maybe she has a mental problem.

    Cat becoming very agressive

My cat Pepper just turned 2 years old. I rescued her from the local shelter when she was about 9 weeks old......she had been dumped by the side of the road with her two sisters. At the time when I adopted her, I had one male cat (who passed away last May). A few weeks after adopting Pepper, I...

Is taking my pregnant cat to the vet worth it?

Well, I can't speak for every vet and every situation, but I took Angel to the vet as soon as I found her (she was a pregnant stray). That was on a Monday, and he said she would deliver in 10-14 days. She had her kittens just three days later......so I don't know if they can always tell for sure!

Do you "free feed" your cats?

I can't free feed the cats with dogs in the house (the dogs LOVE cat food if they are given a chance to get to it!). Angel, the stray momma cat, gets her bowl filled up every time it is empty because she is nursing. But she is in an area away from the dogs.

    Woody 4/30/03-3/14/05

My little guy, Woody, passed away two months ago. He had what started out as a urinary tract infection. I took him to the vet, who put Woody on medication for two weeks. We finished the meds and Woody seemed to be okay for a couple of days. Then, suddenly, he was having trouble urinating again...

    Kitten weights

Very much so. Their eyes opened at 6 days old, their ears at 10 days. They are all responding to sounds and if I wiggle my fingers in front of their faces they will pounce. They are all walking now (still a little shaky, but they are doing VERY well). I have been laying a blanket out on the...

    Kitten weights

I weighed Angel's kittens today and wanted to see if their weights sound okay. Kitten 1 (male) is 14.8 ounces Kitten 2 (female) is 14.7 ounces Kitten 3 (male) is 14.2 ounces This was the first chance I had to weigh them because I didn't have a scale to weigh them on until today. They will be...

    Momma's behavior towards kittens

A few weeks ago I rescued a stray pregnant kitty. She had her kittens, who are now two weeks old (as of yesterday). Angel is a wonderful momma and the kittens are very healthy. I am a bit concerned though. Angel seems to be acting differently towards the kittens now that they are starting to...

    Urinary problems

Yesterday, my male kitty Woody (almost 2 years old and neutered) urinated outside of the litter box. One of the dogs was near the litter box so I just figured that Woody was avoiding it because of the dog. But then this morning, he squated five different times in various places in the house. Not...

Having a problem with my kitty

For the past few months, Pepper, my 1 year old spayed female kitty has become very agressive towards the other cats. She will attack without warning and most often attacks the other female, Isabelle.....but she does attack the male on occasion. Isabelle will be sleeping and Pepper will be...

    New here

Hi everyone. I just joined the board. I have been looking for a cat board for some time and found the link to this board. I have three cats: a 1 year old DSH Orange Tabby male named Woody, a 1 year old DSH Torbie female named Pepper and an almost 8 month old DSH Calico female named Isabelle...
