one cat eats everything!!!!!! the other starves...

actually, the opposite would be idea! i wish there was a spot i could put angel's food where sophie couldn't reach. but that doesn't seem possible. 16 year old angel is still astonishingly agile and can reach any spot 2 year old sophie can reach. the other problem is...i don't want sophie...

one cat eats everything!!!!!! the other starves...

sophie has been home for exactly 15 days as of this morning. she's at a very good weight...she's a small cat at 7 lbs. but her weight is up from when i got her from the humane society. no more boney prominences are visible...and you can no longer feel her ribs, spine, or hips. she's a pretty...

well, too late for that. i saved sophie from the humane society one day before she was scheduled to be euthanized. getting rid of sophie is my last resort option. i think the shock collar isn't a bad option. my friend uses one for his dog...out of curiosity, we tried it on ourselves. feels like...

feeding times don't work with angel. she's 16...she has CRF...she's always been a skinny cat, never over eats...she's been between 6-8 lbs her whole adult life. she grazes...eats 6 pieces of food. goes away for a short nap or a short play or a short gaze out the window...returns and eats 4 more...

ok...here's the situation... i have had Angel for 13 years...she's now a 16 year old senior cat with chronic renal failure. she's so sweet to me...but super grumpy to most other people and all other cats. having CRF, she eats prescription food that is low in protein. now...i have just adopted...

Angel just turned 16 years old!!!!! She's still going strong! The CRF isn't slowing her down one bit! She still runs, jumps, and plays like a kitten! I feel so blessed!

Another Visitor Tonight (warning: might freak you out)

I don't know...in my old neighborhood, there used to be this big stray cat that came to my backyard. This cat would kick the crap out of all the other cats around...I know, cuz they'd fight in my yard (which meant I was getting no sleep). Well, I also saw this cat kick the crap out of a skunk...

    Angel...CRF can't keep her down! (I hope!)

She's pretty happy right now! She's doing real well...but she has her ups and downs. She'll be GREAT for a few days...then she'll get real lethargic for a few days. It's a rollercoaster. But overall I think she's doing very well. She's scheduled to have some more bloodwork done tomorrow...

    Angel...CRF can't keep her down! (I hope!)

CRF is Chronic Renal Failure...kidney disease. She was diagnosed with it this past December. From all the reading I've done, it's actually pretty common in cats. Since it's chronic, there's no cure...so eventually, my Angel will succumb to it. So it's my job to make sure she's happy and...

    Angel...CRF can't keep her down! (I hope!)

Thanks for the kind words! (That goes to everyone!) I'm not sure the exact age of Angel, to be honest. When I got her in 1995, she was apporximately 3-years old. So I just made up a birth date for her...5/1/92! So that makes her 12, going on 13 years old. As for the calendar...that's actually...

Couple more! One while she's grooming herself upside-down...and another as she took a short break from destroying her catnip toy!

Wow, thanks for all the nice comments! I think Angel would appreciate them! Well, I've been trying to get a good shot of Angel playing/destroying her catnip toy...but none of them are coming out very well. So in the mean time, here's one of Angel right after an assisted-feeding session! It's a...
