I should speak to my vet, shouldn't I? I've been putting off going to the vet surgery to pick up Mickeys car carrier as im still quite emotional about losing him. But there is no way I will put another cat in danger.
Although my vet said his blood tests were clear for 2 of the viruses they normally check for they were still convinced he had a virus but weren't sure what one. Sorry I know it is a bit vague, I was getting twice daily phone calls from my vet, got an overload of information while all I wanted to...
I lost my cat, Mickey, to a virus last Saturday. Although no other furbaby will replace him I hate coming home to an empty house and miss my cuddles. I am going to a rescue home tomorrow to maybe find a new cat to adopt. But my big worry is that any new cat coming into my home could get sick...
Thank you for your kind words. I have lost cats in the past but never one so young, always from old age. I fell asleep on the couch yesterday afternoon and I was convinced Mickey was there too, lying on my feet on top of the blanket. But when I woke up and looked he wasn't there :( I think he...
We were only together for 10 weeks but I fell in love with you the moment I saw you. I knew we were meant to be best friends, and we were. Although I thought I was giving you a forever home I think I was there at the right time and right place to adopt you from the rescue center so the last...
The vet called early this morning. Mickey had a bad night and was struggling to breathe. A chest xray showed no problems. He was suffering too much so when asked I gave them permission to put him to sleep :(
Not good news from the vet today. Mickeys blood cell counts have only improved very slightly, much less than the vet expected. I was asked if I wanted him put to sleep today or hang on until sunday for one more blood test. I obviously opted for the 2nd choice. I am going to visit him tomorrow...
I know they did a blood test on day one and ruled out FIA. They did mention some really long name on the phone and said it could be that but they really dont know. I am going to see him this afternoon so I will get an update
I have seen Royal Canin in the shops. I currently feed him Purina Pro Plan as that is what he was fed before I got him, but im not convinced it is that good,
He likes to stay indoors most of the time but he can go out when he wants as he has a catflap. He tends to only go out for 15 minutes at most. I presume it was a similar situation with his last owner as he is quite happy doing his own thing and is quite relaxed in or out.
I want to feed my cat the best quality food I can, especially as he has been very poorly with a virus. He prefers dried food not wet food. I have tried giving him chicken and minced beef in the past but he isnt that interested. What do you consider is the best quality dried food? I am in the UK.
