Cosmo (about 3) is a beautiful cat, and he's very attached to our family. He usually likes to be where we are and will follow one of us (me or my daughter) around the house. When my daughter comes home from school he is all over her with head-butts and rubbing. When we watch TV at night he sits...
Just wanted to let everyone know... I've been feeding Cosmo Natural Balance Premium Cat Food (dry only) for a long time and he really likes it. They make wet too, and apparently they aren't involved in the recall.
I also feed him Iams (dry only) - due to convenience of it being available in the...
Pet sitting is better. Get references and find someone good (ask around locally and find someone that comes recommended if possible).
My mom uses a pet sitter and pays quite a bit.. about $40 per day, but the sitter also spends the night with her cat (my mom doesn't like to leave her old lady...
I just recently switch to Tidy Cat "Small Spaces" -- it is excellent. Low on dust, great on odor control and the clumps don't fall apart when you scoop. I've been using it about two weeks and am VERY pleased. I'm not sure, but I don't believe it's clay.
I started with a new litter about two weeks ago. I used to use Tidy Cat Multiple Cats (though I only have one) and it was good. Now I switched to Tidy Cat "Small Spaces" which is supposed to help with odor even in small apartments (though I live in a house).
I LOVE it so far. It really cuts...
I used to use liners with Comere until they would bunch up and I'd end up with this little "puddles" of urine cathing in the folds. It was really gross. He was declawed so ripping them wasn't an issue... but it honestly made the smell worse.
With Cosmo now we are litter-liner free (he has...
During the holidays I was sitting in a chair by the x-mas tree... I don't normally sit there other times of the year. I was exhausted and dozing off and Cosmo was sitting on the floor watching me. I was looking at him but kept nodding off... and he apparently thought something was wrong with me...
Boy, you are all much more responsible cat owners than me!
1 cat - 1 litterbox - and in an ideal world it would get done once a day - but this isn't an ideal world. Most often I actually remember to scoop it every 3 or so days. It's gone as long as a week. When I'm less swamped with other...
I'd change the routine slowly. Bump the time up in increments of 20 minutes every 7-10 days. This week you get up at 5:00am and let them out. Next week at 5:20... and so on. It will take a few weeks to get them to a more reasonable hour, but they won't notice an abrupt change and will adapt to...
I grew up with a dog and loved him to pieces. He was in my life throughout my childhood and into my teen years so I could not have imagined life without a dog. When my parents made the tough decision to have him put to sleep, I was devistated (we all were).
When I first struck out on my own I...
Get a few scratching posts. You'll find the cats like some but not others. They each may like something different.
And I agree with Molars... cut their nails often and it's really not as much of an issue. I clip my guy's nails about once every 3 weeks and it REALLY cuts down on him scratching...
Hey All,
I hope it's okay to post this... I did post in the Marketing forum with approval, but I'm not getting enough kitty photos
I started a website specifically for sharing pet photos. It's FREE... I'm not trying to make money or anything... and it's just for fun. You can even use it to...
Cosmo too... and he's got a particular fetish with feet and shoes. If I'm sitting in a chair with my legs crossed he'll rub and "pet himself" all over the foot that is slightly suspended... and he'll go nuts doing it when I'm wearing converse sneakers. It's the funniest thing. He's even gone as...
I had read and seen on a TV special about Cats that "naturally" they don't meow. In other words, Cats don't meow at each other... Meowing is what they do with and around HUMANS only, as an attempt to communicate with us.
I'd imagine, since we've all heard all different kinds of meowing...
This is the method that worked for us too when Cosmo was attacking our feet when we walked down the hallway (LOL). The clap startles them a bit.
I'm not a big fan of the water-squirt thing... plus, you'd need to be sure to have good aim with a squirt bottle that doesn't splatter, because...
