Thank you for the responses!
Hissy, she hides only when she sees me coming... then she'll run away and duck under the bed or closet. I think it's because she knows I'll try and pet her! If left alone, she will sit up on my bed or on her favorite cardboard box (ie. not hidden anywhere).
Does...
I have two kitties in my house right now, one is a male and one a female. They're both spayed/neutered and probably about 8-10 years old or more (they were strays when I first took them in).
The male, Tigger, is the most charming and lovable animal and is pretty well adjusted. Seems he had a...
First of all, GOOD FOR YOU Sanctie! I would do exactly the same thing as you have done.
One thing you have to watch for now though, now that you have "committed theft" I'd be very careful about nosing around this woman's business too much. I like the idea of getting some of your friends to...
Oh God I'm just about crying reading this. Poor little girl. All I can say is when I took in Kelley who had been abused, I didn't push myself on him. I let him hide under the bed as much as he wanted and let him come to me when he was ready. If he happened to be out of his hiding place I...
I've been thinking about him a lot today (well, every day really). I miss him so much and ask God almost every day to let me see him just one more time before I can't see him anymore... Of course that isn't very realistic is it... It is getting a little easier though. I have my other two to...
I am very sorry to hear about little Cracker Jack. Having lost a baby myself a few weeks ago, I know what you are going through. My heart goes out to you.
Thank you so much. I wrote a thread about losing Kelley before the "big crash" but it was lost and I guess it's not recoverable at this point. I would rewrite my story, and maybe I still will... but for now, I just don't have the heart to go into it again. I miss him terribly though. He...
I use Crytal Clear Litter Pearls and my cats use it without problem. I like it because I have parquet floors, and the clumping litter would always get strewn about and fall into the cracks in the parquet. It was just hard to keep the floor clean with clumping litter. But once I started using...
I'm not in your area, but I wonder if you have any "no kill" shelters where you can take her in the event that you don't find her a home? We have several around here (Upstate NY). They take strays, etc. and if they can't place them in a good home, keep them there for the rest of their lives...
I do not have it, but I did look into it at one time. I did not get it because my cats have FIV (pre-existing condition) and, at the time I checked anyway, they would not be covered for any FIV related complications... which could be anything... So that's something to consider if you're cats...
I just looked at the web site for Cat Attract. I wish I had known about this years ago. My kitty who just passed away had trouble for a long time with the litter box - and was abused before I got him (they mention this specifically on the site). My cage approach worked as I said above, but it...
Ok, the top of mine doesn't open up. But I opened the side doors and put them both in, one at a time. They both jumped right out immediately! Hmmm. I will try using some of their "used" litter from the other litter box. If that doesn't work I'll look into the Cat Attract stuff.
Thanks everyone!
Yeah it does have doors on the long side. I will try that.... I'm afraid of them spraying and getting some urine on the floor, but then again that's why I buy enzyme treatments. Thanks for the suggestion!
I just bought a new litter box enclosure (one of those "Cat Litter Furniture" ones that is like a wooden piece of furniture). I had three cats until recently, (one of them passed away a couple of weeks ago), and had two litter boxes set up: one litter box tucked into a hallway closet, and a...
I should add, I'm worried about the router as opposed to any other appliances only because she sleeps right up against it. But maybe I don't have to worry...?
