I think the food I feed to my cats are denser than Earthborn, and it was our vet's recommendation to add water. If you are concerned about ingredients of probiotic, sometimes health food stores have very simple ones in refrigerated sections.

Is it possible that nail or screw is loose somewhere in your house? For example, underside of furniture? Or is there any leak from cleaning supplies?

I'm so sorry that you're going through this. I don't have the same experience, but I'd ask the vet if I could give him Laxatone or something to lubricate his intestine. I'd wait for a day for him to pass it, and if he doesn't I'd talk to the vet again about the surgery in details. If you have a...

I'd get X-ray. I think it's unlikely that your cat swallowed a quarter. You might find it under a sofa or something. But, peace of mind is priceless.
