I just lost my little man to FIP. This disease is absolutely horrible, & I wish they would find treatment or a vaccine for it. I'm so sorry for the loss of your beautiful Chai. She is truly gorgeous. Know she will walk by your side always, forever faithful and true, as they always are. Hugs
Thank you all so much for your kind words. I'm missing my little man incredibly. What @DiandBob said about passing on his legacy made me think. I've decided I'm going to do a donation drive for some of the animal rescues I work with, and submit the proceeds in Angelo's memory. That way other...
Angelo was around 4 weeks old when I pulled him out of a ditch on the side of the road. He was covered in fly eggs, and had massive facial trama, along with extreme dehydration. He shouldn't have pulled through, but he did.
A couple months ago, some of you may remember, I accidentally slammed...
My sweet, precious boy passed away peacefully in my arms this morning. His liver had begun to fail, & I knew it was time. I rocked him & told him he had done such a good job fighting, but now it was time to rest. I nuzzled him as I sobbed, & he simply rubbed his little cheek on mine and put his...
@catwoman707 thank you do much for your reply. I can't begin to tell you the comfort that brought me. I've been in a sheer panic about the other cats.
Angelo does not have a fever. He was dehydrated however. The vet has started him on steroids as well, though I'm not quite sure what that's...
Some of you may remember me posting about my Angelo, who had been slammed in a door. He's been doing really well. Until last night. He wouldnt eat his dinner, & was acting extremely lethargic. After he refused his breakfast this morning, I rushed him to the vet. She did blood work, everything is...
Ahh my heart is breaking for you. I'm so sorry. Stay strong by his side until the end. I'm sure he's known nothing but love, & he will wait for you across the Rainbow Bridge. Poor boy. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your Sammy today.
So good to hear he's perking up! I'm the same way when there's something going on with one of mine. I google away. I'd rather educate myself as much as possible, that way I'm aware of any and all options. I would think the vet would suggest an ultrasound after the bloodwork is done, being that...
Normal cat temp is 100.4 to 102.5. It is normal for it to be a bit on the higher side of this range under stressful situations, such as going to the vet.
She's most likely foaming and drooling because the medicine tastes icky. I see this frequently in my own cats and at the spay/neuter clinic I work at. Try to encourage some water or yummy treats to get the gross taste out of her mouth.
Thank you! Right now the pups are the only 2 showing symptoms, but I figured I would treat the 2 kittens anyway because I know their immune systems aren't fully developed yet. I hope I don't get it! Ugh! What a stressful situation :-(
So I know I had posted a couple weeks ago telling everyone that I had gotten my little Angelo a play mate his age to help with his rehabilitation. The woman I adopted him from told me that he had a ringworm infection when she first got him, but that it had been treated. Well, apparently she was...
Its been a wonderful experience! A horrible accident, but it has shown me how strong this little guy is. He's an amazing cat. When it first happened, I had posted about how I felt I didn't have the right to try and be a vet. Someone replied and told me people who have had these types of...
He's doing amazing! He's walking flat footed and goes potty on his own almost every single time now. Were still continuing the laser therapy since he still has a little droop in his back end, but he's come a long way. I took everyone's advice and adopted another kitten to act as his companion...
He's doing great! He's home and resting comfortably. He's walking! His legs get tangled a bit from time to time and his little toes curl under his feet and get caught once and a while, but he is mobile! He's been chasing his toys and loves the attention. He's very happy. When I expressed his...
Thank you both so much. You have no idea how much better I feel after reading your replies. He did urinate a bit last night at the hospital, but they think it was just his bladder over flowing. He's coming home this evening, & were going to try a medication that's supposed to stimulate the...
