    Metronidazole (Flagyl) causing diarrhea??

Any incidences of Tri Trichomonus Fetus (I'm sure I spelled that wrong, but that's how you pronounce it LOL) It doesn't show on a normal fecal, you have to use a special rubber tipped doohickey to get the fecal sample from waaaaaaaaay up in the intestinal track. I had a cat with it recently that...

    Update: Ferals without much hope

We incorporated in October of 2005 (you have to be incorporated before you can file). We were granted our 501c3 status December 8, 2005. It cost us $500 + $30 for the filing of the articles of incorporation. It is soooooooo worth it. That little paper gives you so much more clout and bigger...

    The Importance of FIV/FELV Testing....

and our ferals. I was actually one of the ones in my rescue pushing for that decision across the board. I did a lot of research on the incidence of FIV/FeLV in domestic and feral populations, read a ton by Ally Cat Allies and Nathan Winograd. In the end we decided that it wasn't necessary unless...

    Ugh! Craigslist

We advertise all of our foster cats/kittens on CL and have had a lot of success. Look at it as free publicity - thank the person publicly for doing, but ask them *politely* to please follow a few guidelines. The ads should look professional, link to the adoption fees and requirements, or have...

    FIV - just diagnosed

I didn't do anything special with my girl except keep her indoors (she'd been indoor/outdoor prior to that) and keep her healthy. Any little illness can be worse for them. That and we didn't introduce any new cats into the mix.

    Heart Murmurs

They usually grade from 1-5 with 1 being mild and 5 being bad. We've adopted out a cat with a grade 3 and currently have one with a grade 4. So far neither have had any issues but that doesn't mean they won't. You should opt for an ultrasound at around 14 months of age, that's when they...

    FIV - just diagnosed

Keep her as unstressed as possible and on a high quality food. My FIV+ cat had to be PTS due to cancer. she was 17. FIV+ can live just fine with no issues, and not pass it to the others either. Good luck to you and your girl.

    What rescue is all about

Last night I was incredibly sad, and it followed into this morning. Angel had bit her foster mom very badly, broke skin, almost down to bone. We cannot adopt her out like that. Perhaps that is why her owners surrendered her. She is so beautiful. It is so sad. I emailed the shelter, who explained...

    can someone explain softpaws

She likes to attack my other female, so hot pink softpaws were the way to go. Once she'd had them on a couple days she stopped trying to remove them constantly. It's just little rubber tips that cover the tip of the nail. I don't know about the discomfort factor though?

**Help** Sick 13 day old Kitten!

Momma kitty needs to have access to dry food constantly and wet food twice a day. Water all day as well. It is VERY important that mom no longer be allowed to be outdoor at all until she is spayed, she can still get pregnant while nursing/immediately after. Check with the vet about getting...

    ATTN Rescue League

Depending on how many cats we add, it can be half an hour, or it can be 2 hours a week. Generally the pictures already exist and the descriptions, so its alot of cutting and pasting. Same with Craigslist, there's a basic template we use, add the picture and wala.

    ATTN Rescue League

This isn't a particular cat, but more a request that goes beyond what all the folks listed as what they would do to help a rescue. Here are some more ideas, things I find especially that my group (ie ME) needs help with. Posting of kitties descriptions and photos. We use...
