You are a natural ! :) It takes a strong and loving heart to take them in and then, when the time comes, give them away to their forever homes. I've never met a Cat I didn't fall in love with, and I get very attached. Cats are my HEART. If I were to foster Cats routinely, I'd either have 100...
God bless you for loving them and helping them. I take it personally because I relate to Cats so closely. :) I'm so very glad the Shelter didn't accept them IF it is not a "No kill" shelter. I was able to TNR several cats in CA, and better yet - take them with me to live in Michigan ! We are...

I know the pain of losing a Cat you've had in your life for so long. :(
I rescued a little white cat from the shelter's "death row", and she was my loyal little buddy for 18 years.
We moved quite a few times during those years also, and I know what you mean. She was fine as...

It really warms my heart to hear stories like yours. :)
I rescued two brothers a couple of years ago, and they are inseparable.
I can't look at them without smiling inside and out. <3
There were 3 brothers, but a nasty neighbor man killed one of them with a sling-shot. I...
I once bought a tent that was made for dogs, and put it up on the porch. There were several cats that would go inside when it rained. Made me so happy. :)
If ur interested, maybe just google 'Pet tent", and go from there ?
Try contacting "FixNation". They will loan the traps and teach you how to use them. You have to put down a credit card in case the traps get lost or stolen, but that never happened to me.
I'm assuming they're not just a California thing - thus the word "Nation". :)
Best organization I've...
Anne,
Welcome.
You are a HERO as far as I'm concerned ! Your story really does my heart good.
I am so glad there are so many of us who love Cats and are NOT willing to just look the other way. The problem is HUGE.
God bless you and the work you do for our unfortunate feral's. ...
Good. I guess that's how it's supposed to work . We just love them and we give them the best life possible, and we learn from them. The hardest thing we learn from them is how to let go.
You did good by her you know. You went with her all the way, and that is a very, very hard place to...
Oh that's too funny :) I've fed feral cats most of my life, and almost always there is a Possum among the colony at mealtimes. i worry that it might hurt the cats cuz i don't know much about them, but so far nothing bad has happened.
The cats seem to give the Possums their respect though. :)
While doing TNR I came across several cats like that. They seemed well fed, clean, and some I was able to pet, but no collar. Early on I'd already made up my mind that if I nabbed an un-neutered/un-spayed cat it WAS going to the vet to have that taken care of - regardless of whether or not I...
