Hello, Recently adopted a senior kitty without teeth!

Congrats on your adoption! I always love to see a senior kitty go to a good home. As for the food I would try feeding a kitten food. They are higher in calories than reg cat food. Wellness core kitten food is really great food and is high in calories and protein. I would also try feeding her...

Is my adopted cat older than I was told?

Does he have a tattoo in his ear? A vet can tell you his age based on the tattoo number. I volunteer as a foster and see cats of all ages in various conditions. The medical issues you described are not unusual for a cat of ten. I would also consider requesting the previous owners to get his vet...

    What else can I do?

Has your vet said the blockage is gone? I had a kitten who had this and it turned out to have eaten thread. Could he have gotten into something during the renovation? Are there any other behaviour changes. Inappropriate urination is a sign of a physical problem not a behavioural one. I would...

HELP! Are these kittens and their parents British Shorthairs?

I would ask if you will be receiving a purebred registration for your kitten with the purchase of your kitten. A good breeder will tell you that you will receive this after the kitten is neutered or spayed. If the kitten does not have these papers it is a domestic shorthair and not a pure bred...

    Munchkin?

You are so ignorant. There is no "genetic manipulation" involved in this type of cat any more than any other breed. All pure bred cats are bread selectively for certain traits and munchkins are no different than any other bread this way. As a proud Sphynx owner people spew these ignorant...

    Breeds with Calico?

She is cute. The round eyes remind me of either a Scottish fold(many of which have straight ears) or a ragdoll

Post Pics Of Your Cat's favorite napping spot

Frida's favourite spot is the heat pad I keep on the bed Rupert is also fond of the heat pad and is normally there if I'm looking but his favourite spot is my lap. The moment I get home he comes running and meows to be picked up he also will sit on the laps of guests Or if nobody else is...

Lol at least he has fur to hide behind. Frida has no such luxury. Fat sphynx is just not something you can hide.

    Cat suddenly starts meowing regularly?

Maybe he never meowed before because he was in pain and now that he is feeling better he is gaining a new version of himself. Sometimes a change in behaviour goes with a change in health. Sounds like he has been recently seen by a vet so I would guess this is a positive change.

Kitten losing weight and not playing

Thank you this advice is helpful. Fortunately there are no required vaccines where I live. I don't show my cats either. I know if I ever travel to the states with them that they would need rabies vaccines but I have no future plans of this. I am watching much more carefully the food now as it...

Thank you. They are best buddies. Frida will be so glad when he is ready to play again. Poor dear just doesn't understand that he is recovering. She is a loving sister though and cleans him and snuggles him. They both love the heat pad.

Thanks. There was definitely a reaction to the vaccine as he started vomiting a lot quite soon after he received it and went for antihistamine the next morning. My vet thinks it may have triggered or made worse something pre existing, but we don't really know. Honestly I feel guilty about how...

Yes normally he is a little acrobat. I will be sure to keep everyone updated. I hope to be telling about his antics soon. I think he will be more himself after the antibiotics are through.

So we just got back from the vet. I am glad to say that Rupert has gained some weight and is much perkier. He was still having some abdominal pain so the vet took an X-ray just in case he swallowed something and we discovered that he was extremely constipated. So Rupert got an anima. Yay poop...
