    Our furry friend 8/9/2016

Thanks for your kindness and compassion everybody..I know I shouldn't feel guilty, but I am always beating myself up.. After a few days, I am starting to feel...somewhat better. My wife is about the same. It's hard to go to bed at night without him jumping up there and waiting for us to lift up...

    Our furry friend 8/9/2016

We still got 2 other cats, and 4 ferrets to keep us company, but it's still not the same :(. Jaya was the King of the House :(. I remember when lost my other orange cat (I was 18) named Morris. My dad started working at this golf course and he saw him walking around and asked one of the guys how...

    Our furry friend 8/9/2016

Everyone, I am a wreck, but wanted to share this anyway.. 5 years ago my wife found a stray kitten under a bush at her job. We took him to the vet, go him all his shots, and brought him him. We bottle fed him, got him all kinds of toys, a comfy bed, and he even got along with all our ferrets...

    Cat ate a wrapper...

Update: I came home, there was some poop in the litter box. Had to be Jayas, cause my other cat is isolated, and Nermal (female) well she came down late at night and had a poop, and it was really, really, big, hahah (she always goes once a day, at night). The poop really didn't look weird, a...

    Cat ate a wrapper...

so far he still seems okay. hasn't throw up, or had diarrhea, lethargy or any shaking or anything. He followed my wife upstairs, slept, seems normal. Not aggresive or howling. I assume if there was an obstruction it would have developed into something worse by now...

    Cat ate a wrapper...

It's hard, I am an animal lover, 3 cats, 5 ferrets hahah. Jaya has had his PU surgery over 6 months ago, doing fine, had a little UTI, but he recovered in a day or two. Now I have to worry about this. My wife is home with them (and our 6 month old daughter) so she has her hands full. I work 10...

    Cat ate a wrapper...

I don't know how much he ate of it, those little packs are maybe..1 1/2 inch by 1 1/2 inch, its not huge. He's a big cat, so it's not like he's tiny and that wrapper was a huge piece (like it would be for a kitten). I felt his tummy again, it's soft, and he didn't hiss, growl or make any type of...

    Cat ate a wrapper...

Hello everyone, My cat, Jaya, has eaten a wrapper :(.  it was a Purina FortiFlora probiotic wrapper. He pooped this morning, which is good, not as big, but it was soft and contained pieces of the wrapper. He hasn't thrown up, and is eating fine, drinking water. He ran around a bit and chased...

Cat with urinary troubles (any one have a similar experience?)

Update on Jaya: He ate more wet food, and I just scooped out two huge clumps from his litter...it may have been a couple of trips, but overall it was quite large, and took a lot of effort to scoop (even with my DuraScoop scooper). He also peed in the other litter box when I let him out to walk...

Cat with urinary troubles (any one have a similar experience?)

I have the D-Mannose saved in my cart on amazon, I will get it asap.  This morning Jaya seems better, I saw a clump of pee in his litter, he hasn't thrown up at all, took his antibiotic, had some water, and ate all his C/D dry last night, and had some C/D wet food as well (just a small amount...

Cat with urinary troubles (any one have a similar experience?)

Oh by the way, my wife said he just peed a huge huge puddle on his blanket, which I know it's not in his litter box, but the fact that he passed that much urine is good...

Cat with urinary troubles (any one have a similar experience?)

Well technically, he is not blocked....a blockage is literally no passing of urine at all, maybe just one drop, and a very large bladder. He has been passing urine, sure it's not much, but when he was blocked he just sat there and never urinated at all, just a drop of blood, then he would cry...

Cat with urinary troubles (any one have a similar experience?)

Update on Jaya: Last night I came home, he was just laying on his blanket. Small spots of urine were in his litter box and bigger stains on his blanket. and towel. He then walked around a bit, and peed on the tile floor (dark yellow). He then trickled a little bit on the carpet and the kitchen...

Cat with urinary troubles (any one have a similar experience?)

Update: Checked on Jaya. He was still resting. Small amount of vomit on the floor (which is from the Clavamox, when he had his surgery sometimes he would vomit after taking it and eating food too fast). I gave him some water, he sat in the litter box for quite a bit, not much came out, but on...

Cat with urinary troubles (any one have a similar experience?)

Thanks for the info/links. I figured the bladder is sensitive, so I do not want to disturb him. I just kind of pat his belly, near his legs, etc just to see if it feels hard. I may go check on him at lunch, but yesterday I was out from 11-8 or so and when I came back he was just resting (that's...

Cat with urinary troubles (any one have a similar experience?)

On another note, his bladder doesn't seem hard. I felt near his penis, and near hsi legs, belly, nothing feels huge or hard. I remember before when he was blocked it felt like a hard orange, so that kind of gives me some hope. I wish I knew how to express his bladder, but I don't know exactly...

Cat with urinary troubles (any one have a similar experience?)

I will definitely look into the D-Mannose and probiotics. He isn't too good with pills (he will fight you till the end), but I have seen some D-Mannose based treats, which I hope he will eat. I tried to find corn silk, but it's not easy to find, or maybe I am just not looking in the right place...
