Into the last week before my move with Doofy and I really appreciated the answers months ago, they really helped. Now I have a new one. Due to circumstances, I've had to adopt my son's 5 month old female cat. They've adjusted to each other very well (except a few days when Gizmo went into heat...
I'm planning on moving in mid-to-late January so it's about 6 months from now. Bringing a buddy into the house before the move isn't possible so it'll have to be after we're there and settled in.
Well, Doofy is active and playful, runs around all the time when we're here (or flops down on the couch or floor near me when he wants to snooze) and when nobody's around he just kind of lays there and sleeps most of the time. If my job and transfer work out the way I hope, I'll be working 5-6...
I appreciate the input. Though I do love kittens, it'd mostly be for Doofy I think. I'm getting a 2 bedroom apartment partially for his sake (and not having the litter box in the bedroom or living room.) He's never been around other cats or animals at all, though he does love staring and...
I'm moving to an apartment soon and my 3 year old cat Doofy is coming with me. After living in a big home with someone always around, he'll be alone at home while I'm at work so I was thinking about getting a kitten to keep him company while I'm away (plus I love kittens...) Doof is an active...
Oh, he totally is. Been counter-surfing since he as 5 months old, has to check out everything, knows how to sit and beg politely at the table, flops on my laptop keyboard, etc. You name it, he does it. And right when I'm totally frustrated with him he hops in my lap and starts purring and...
Thank you for the replies. I think he'd be happier with me too. I'm bringing the couch he loves to flop on and his favorite "scratching chair" if he comes, so there will be at least a few familiar things for him to play with. He's strictly an inside cat, doesn't even try to get out anymore so I...
My wife and I are separating in a few months and I will be moving a few hours away. Our house is a big 2 story house and the only home our 3 year old furry son has ever known. He's definitely "my" cat though. He's slept on me since he was a kitten, I'm the only one he lets pick him up, follows...
