That could be it. I also just thought suddenly, that's about the area where she always rubs on stuff and her lips go up when she does so. Maybe this has something to do with marking?

That's the issue another forum is having too! We just can't find an answer. And yes, she was very confused and slightly mad at me after I let her go. I noticed it though when I was brushing her teeth, and I know I've seen the before but all of a sudden I was just really curious as to what it was. 

What is this? Those things on the top, the little barbs that are hanging down. What is that?
