No apologies, I love reading fellow cat parent's stories. Sound like Freebie is in great hands. My guy had moderate thickening of the jejunum and two masses, so you may be okay in that arena if Freebie (love that name, btw) doesn't have that.
If she ever does need chemo, it is true, at least...
Lol, you are the second person to relate a similar story about that site owner! Once I posted a link to some published papers pertaining to drugs that many of our cats were on thinking it could be helpful or added to the wiki and she sent me "who do you think you are, you think you can find...
Lol, that is a good descriptor. I did ask the owner to point out what she found offensive, and even though I still couldn't really understand her perception, I accepted that everyone reads things differently and apologized, etc. She still seemed to think every other post of mine was somehow a...
Thank you so much for the info! I did join that small cell lymphoma io group and learned a lot but apparently the owner interpreted some of my posts as "insulting" --which i don't understand, i gave her and her site nothing but praise and gratitude-- maybe it was the way I asked questions, I...
Thank you so much for the link. Unfortunately, every time I hit SUBMIT to create a new account, the new-account application page just refreshes. Do I need a specific invite?
Oh, here is my beloved boy. Still looking okay except for losing weight. Sweetest cat ever. Loves people, adores other...
Update: Results of fine needle aspirates have identified aggressive, high grade large cell intestinal lymphoma. Making appointment with veterinary oncologist now, but been told prognosis is poor.
Thanks for all the support you all have given. I'll try to give updates.
Yes, mirtazapine! I always get those confused. He was given Convenia antibiotic, but no steroids yet. Vet wanted to wait for result of ultrasound on Tuesday.
Have just started trying elevated dishes, and he will lick food off my fingers but only once or twice before he walks away, same as food...
I agree that is a very good point. I just made an appointment with our local specialty-laden emergency 24/7 vet hospital. Extremely talented vets, huge state-of-the- art hospital, but Ungodly expensive just to walk in the door. But I don't care. Too soon to lose this special boy.
The two vets were both at the same practice yes, both were the practice's "cat vets" but I dont think either is considered a cat specialist per se. There is a speciality cats-only vet clinic i may visit pending the results of the ultrasound.
Good suggestion!
To whomever suggested kitten food, THANK YOU! He didn't eat all of it but he consumed more of it than anything else I have tried so far, including human chicken, tuna, and salmon! Fingers crossed.
Thank you everyone for you fast and very helpful responses!
Oh and I do serve filtered water from my fridge dispenser. Out tap water smells like chlorine! If I tried to feed him tap water, he'll search out a cup of water i am drinking from and consume that instead!
Those tests will absolutely be the next steps if ultrasound and endoscopy don't reveal any pathologies. He does have chronic sinusitis which is controlled by Convenia when it flares up. We've already done xrays, evaluated by radiologist, results "unremarkable".

My 13 yo neutered male cat has always been a walking garbage disposal eating whatever we put down for him. He subsistence on a reduced calorie dry mixed with water, Fortiflora, and a cosequin as he got older. Gradually, he started eating less and less. Now, he acts like he is hungry, but only...
Update on Tomtom. After three courses of Convenia, two of Zenaquin, and one of Baytril plus a steroid and antihistamine, my foster cat Tomtom seems Finally to have gotten over his pseudomonas aeruginosa infection. He us still a little wheezy but I am hoping that is due more to his obesity (20...
Thanks again for all the great advice. I will ask his vet about feline herpes and look for "missing link" during my next trip to Petsmart.
I currently have Tomtom on two lysine chews per day, a dose of powdered probiotics, and a generic cat multivitamin daily. He gets 1/3 cup of prescription...
Thank you all for the input.
I have been reading here and elsewhere that this bacteria is nearly impossible to irradicate due to its resistance to most antibiotics. It seems like even if you can get rid of it short term, it comes back. My foster cat Tomtom had complete blood work up and was...
Thanks for the kind words. He's been on zenaquin for 3 weeks with one more week in the course. He is also on a conrolled amount of "Satiety" which is a prescription diet dry food for cats that the vet recommended and prescribed. He does get some wet food once a day which has his ground up pill...
