Looking for a kitten food with no fish

Thanks for the suggestion.  Ruth had ongoing chronic urinary tract issues  that were finally managed by removing all fish from her diet as well as removing dry food.  I actually hadn't even thought of wet kitten food, but will be sure to get a can or two for the baby to try.

Looking for a kitten food with no fish

We just adopted a 10 week old kitten.  Our 11 year old Ruth has accepted her quicker than we thought she would, for which we are all thankful.  My problem is that Ruth is not allowed to have any fish products or any dry food.  We are doing our best to keep the Iams kitten food away from her, but...

Blood in urine after visit to vet

Update:  We had our diabetes education appointment today.  Now we just need to get the prescription filled and Kittybear will start receiving twice-daily injections of insulin.  So far, the urine culture is negative.  Her vet said that the blood clots were caused by the cytocentisis.  The...

Blood in urine after visit to vet

Update:  Kittybear visited the vet this morning.  We had just had a routine UA done Thursday, so they were able to request a urine culture on that sample.  Should have the results of that in a few days.  In the meantime, Clavamox was prescribed, as well as Pravocin to calm the urethra wall and...

Blood in urine after visit to vet

Kittybear went to the vet on Thursday.   She was urinating frequently and eat a lot, but losing weight.  Her glucose was 435, so the diagnosis is diabetes.  We have an appointment on Monday to learn about injections, etc.  While at the vet, they needed a urine sample and got one with the needle...

Babz thanks for the hint, I hadn't thought of just having ship the rake! I am keeping an eye on Ebay and anywhere else I can think of. Super Glue is holding for now, but I know it's not permanent.

    Looking for Littermaid Parts

Thanks for moving this post to it's proper place. Just a fast update. I was able to Super Glue the little wheel thingy back on for now. It's worked for 2 days so far. I don't expect it to last very long. In the meantime, I'll keep looking for broken Littermaids for spare parts.

    Looking for Littermaid Parts

Hello everyone. Long time lurker, but even longer time since I posted. We bought a Littermaid LME9000 last year and LOVE IT!!! Sadly we now have a broken Littermaid LME9000. One of the wheels that make the rake assembly roll down the track broke off. Crazy glue is not working well. I...

Just for fun: What is your cat's least desirable trait??

I'm up every weekday at 3 am to get ready for work. On Saturday and Sunday or whenever I have a day off, Kittybear will rattle the sliding door on the closet until I get up and feed her and Ruth. This is great if I forgot to set my alarm clock, but just once, I'd like to sleep until 6!

    on shaky ground

Please bring this guy in and give him the food and attention he must be craving by now. Since he's declawed it would be safer for him to be indoors.

cat in the box all the time

I'm giving Ruth DASUQUIN for Cats. It's 125mg Glucosamine, plus 100mg Chondroitin and 25mg Avocado/Soybean Unsaponifiables. I got Ruth's from the vet, but I did see it at Petsmart the other day. It's a capsule that you open and sprinkle the powder on the kitty's food.

Now Ophelia, quit worrying your mommy and drink and pee for her please. I know how scary this is - I'm going through similar issues with Ruth right now. Send good vibes and purrs your way

CAn U really get rid of Struvite Crystals?

Thanks for suggesting this food. I'm going to look into it for my Ruth. She refuses to eat the wet Hills RD

    fish oil and CRF

Only your vet can answer that question for you. Ruth's vet just put her on fish oil as part of her treatment for struvite crystals for better urinary tract health.
