A cat that didn't develop "warmth"?

For the last almost 2 months my husband and I have been the proud owners of two kittens. We were by chance at the spca when someone brought them in and they were going to be put down because they were under two pounds. They were tiny, and obviously malnurished but have thrived under our care...

I don't know if this is all over the country, but in CA ribbons on cars are everywhere. There are a lot of yellows- for support our troops, pinks-breast cancer etc. I saw one the other day, I believe it was blue- for spaying and neutering. Pet Strollers: Your opinion?

Before reading all the replies, my first thought was that a pet stroller was kinda ridiculous, but after reading, I realize that it can be a good thing, as long as the cat feels like its not too confined and there is plenty of space for them. My biggest worry would be the cats trying to jump out...

    Dry Food on the Floor

I think they enjoy eating food off of the floor. I know one of my cats, Mussy will get a piece of food from the dish, taste it, drop it on the ground and then eat it. I think just like humans, cats have their own eating habits.

A cat "chewing her cud" -ever seen this?

Red is a maine coon. She is very affectionate and is a great cat, although she does something strange. While she is purring, she will start chomping down on nothing. The closest thing I can compare it to is a cow chewing her cud. Anyone have a similar situation with their cats? nancy

    Why do cats lick us?

I always took licking as the greatest show of affection your cat can show you. I read somewhere in a cat book that by licking, cats are getting their "scent" on you so that other cats know that you are theirs. In other words, it is a type of "claiming" they do. Regardless, I know they are saying...

Does your cat wake you in the morning?

Well my husband and I have an interesting situation. I work the graveyard shift and he works swing, so when I get home about 9-10 am, they are all fast asleep UNTIL I creep into bed. One of my cats, Spike will immeditley jump on the bed and yowl in my ear. Even with ear plugs he still won't stop...

    pregnant, deaf stray

I just have to commend you (like the others did) on your willingness to accept and love this cat. While (honestly) I know absolutley NOTHING about a deaf cat, I do know that love can conquer and save all, and that is exactlly what you are doing- saving a beautiful creature and giving it a chance...
