Older new cat attacking my docile female~advice PLEASE!

I had a similar situation, with one cat trying to beat up another, but how it "resolved' (if you can call it that) is that the real alpha stepped in and beat down the trouble maker.  In my situation it was two betas fighting to see who was better, both were bothering each other, but one was...

What breed is my new kitten?

He looks to me like a domestic medium or long hair.  I think he may have a longer coat as he gets older, but its hard to tell from that picture.  You have to really look at the coat to see if some of the hairs are longer than others.  He is adorable.  Congratulations on the new baby!

    Buprenorphine/Buprenex SR side effects

I believe my cat developed Serotonin syndrome from his pain medications.  You might want to look that up and see what you think about the symptoms.  Im pretty darn sure thats what happened in Smiths case, but when I called the vet, she pooh poohed it and said it was perfectly normal.   I dont...

7 week old kitten having continuous seizures

Sorry, I misunderstood this part I think.  I thought that meant that your Siamese had been puking up pink with blood in her stool before you got the kitten.  But you are saying that the kitten got your Siamese sick if I am understanding correctly?  If your pets all have their shots, then it...

Need advice: Nighttime yowling- maybe she lost kittens?

I have a kitten, Elly Belly, well she is now a year old, who also does that.  I do think it is a maternal type behavior, but Elly has never had kittens.  (And she is spayed so she never will)  I think your kitty is pretending she killed something and calling for someone to come play with it with...

7 week old kitten having continuous seizures

No, but best wishes to you both.  What a horrible situation to be in for both of you.  At least she has someone who cared enough about her to get her some help.  Pink stomach acid I do have experience with, the pink is usually blood.  My cat Smith did this a lot.  The blood could actually be...

When the problem is the possum

Im with ShadowRescue,  your best bet is to just pick up all food at night.  Possums wont hang around if there isnt an easy meal for them, they will just waddle off to the next cat food dish at someone elses house.  ;)  The other option would be if you could just lock both Bunny and Fireball in...

Sebastian is Back at the Vet...Suspected Pancreatitis Again :(

What I would say is "it is very rarely DIAGNOSED in cats."  They dont find what they are not looking for.  I actually brought this disease up with my vet a couple weeks ago and wanted him tested for it, but he is too debilitated to get biopsies.  (Anesthetic would be highly risky) and she didnt...

Sebastian is Back at the Vet...Suspected Pancreatitis Again :(

Thank you whoever posted that link about coconut oil.   Thank you, thank you, thank you.   This, "Some researchers theorize Crohn’s is caused by a bacterium called mycobacterium avium paratuberculosis, or MAP. A Journal of Clinical Microbiology article published in July, 2003, found MAP in 92...

Shall I put my cat up for adoption?

Abi, How does Dragon seem?  Does he seem fairly happy?  Or horribly depressed?  In my experience, cats hate change.  They are become VERY attached to their people, other pets, and their home.  Personally, I think it would be harder for Dragon to be adopted by someone new.  And, you cannot...

    Hello fellow cat parents.

I am Alyson, and I joined because my boy Smith has Pancreatitis, (for certain) and possible IBD and possible Lymphoma.  (I do not agree with the Lymphoma diagnosis, no test has come back positive, although I did not agree to let them open him up for the full thickness biopsy.) I have learned SO...
