Thank you for your input!! I really appreciate any and all ideas.
I can't imagine he (or she?) is stressed. Nothing has changed.... no new people, furniture, other animals, etc. Nothing new. But I can certainly look into that product if you feel it might help. Thanks so much for the name of it...
I haven't been here in awhile, but now I really need some advice. I am very upset...
I have two cats - a 3 year old male who was fixed when he was 4 months old (and who I've had his whole life) and a 4 year old female who was also fixed very young and who I've had about 2 years (a rescue).
I...
Hey all! I haven't posted here in over a year, I don't think.... but I'm in need of some advice and I figured you all could help.
Dante (my 3 year old siamese mix) was reciently hospitalized for two weeks for crystals in his urine. He was badly blocked, and kept pulling out his catheter, and...
I'm going to guess 5!
She is a cutie! She looks EXACTLY like my first cat, Bashful, who I got when I was about 10. She lives with my mom now and is the fattest thing you ever did see! but her coloring is just like Lola's!
I think the motion activated light sounds like a great idea, and maybe a simple alarm that will go off if you front door is opened, like someone already mentioned.
Another good idea is to go to your local pet store or wal-mart type store and buy the BIGGEST dog water bowl you can find... get a...
Great, thanks so much! That is kind of what I figured, but with that word "fatty" thought I should ask! I don't want to have two "fatty" kitties! hehe
Hopefully it's not so yummy that they will just eat and eat and eat and become a "fatty!" I think we're going to start to monitor how much...
I want to put Lily on some kind of Linatone supplement for her shedding.... this wont make her gain weight, will it? The word "fatty" in "fatty acid" tends to scare me.
Thanks!!
Sounds like great advice! Thanks. I've read that a few times on this site before, I will try it. this is the first time she's ever bit me like this.... It used to be things like rubbing her stomach (makes her play bite) or picking her up (makes her MAD!).... this was so odd! She jumps up on my...
Exactly what you said: I yelled OW! and jerked my hand away. She jumped off my lap and ran away. I tried to completely ignor her for a while thereafter to let her know I was mad at her, but I doubt she caught on. I don't know if cats have that mental capacity.
Dante is about 1.5 years old and Lily is about 2. They are very close in age and both still very young. Dante is about twice Lily's size, though. But Lily is remarkably close in size (and coloration) to his littermate that he was so close to growing up, so I don't think it is size (or age)...
Is he doing it more than a 'normal' cat in your opinion? I'm no expert, but I read that cats do this all the time as a way of putting their sent on things. I always thought mine was "scratching" his face too but apparently it's an instinct thing.
....let's let the experts give you more info though!
The brief background: We got two kittens and raised them together, then seperated them (due to a move) after about a year. Dante, my cat, was an only cat for about 3 months before we brought Lily home for him, his new "sister" and playmate.
So, ever since we bought Lily home, Dante doesn't...
This is just me venting a little about my problem kitty, don't read if you don't want to hear a slight rant.
Urgh! Just when I think Lily is making progress.... she bites me!
So I was sitting in the magic computer chair yesterday (the only chair in the house that Lily will jump up into my...
