    Skittish Young Cat

Good afternoon, I was hoping I could get some advice on my current situation. I have an indoor community of six cats, all getting along just fine. Ages range from 5 mo to 8 years, and all are altered aside from the youngster. My problem is with the 5 mo old. She is a very healthy little mixed...

How to get kitty back on solid food???

He goes nuts when he hears the treat bag, but won't take them. He just "head butts" them while I'm holding them for him. I will try making him take the food by finger, but he absolutely flips out when anybody tries to stick a finger in his mouth. I have to give him nutrical via syringe.  The...

How to get kitty back on solid food???

Thank you for the response. He is still on the appetite stimulants, as well as the Clindamycin. He will be on the antibiotics thru Halloween. He goes nuts over most of the people food we eat, but he really seems interested in pizza and pork fried rice (we were on vaca last week and didn't eat so...

How to get kitty back on solid food???

Hello there! I have a kitty that has been on syringe feedings for about two months now. He had originally gotten so skinny that he was near death. The doctor did blood tests and could only determine that his liver values were way up. He also was exhibiting signs of neurological damage, as he...

    Help with Redirected Aggression

    Help with Redirected Aggression

Just wanted to post an update. My sick kitty has taken a turn for the worse. He has an appointment to go up for a 2nd opinion with a different doctor this afternoon. The good thing is my mother is a vet tech for the office so I have access to "behind the scenes" insight. This other doctor...

    Help with Redirected Aggression

The sick cat isn't the one being bullied - he's actually doing much better and has started to show interest in food on his own. I will continue to feed him and give him fluids as needed to ensure that he doesn't regress. Yesterday was another successful day with no bullying!

    Help with Redirected Aggression

We've just tried to pay even more attention to the bully. I bottle-raised him from about a week of age so I was for all intents and purposes his "mommy," and I think he just doesn't like seeing someone get more attention. Last night both were sleeping next to each other on the couch without any...

    Help with Redirected Aggression

Thank you for the suggestions. Last night we were sitting in the living room and watched the bully stalk the older kitty. I put the older kitty on the top of the couch and called the bully up to sit next to me (their usual positions) and within a few minutes both were lounging peacefully. I've...

Hello all! I was hoping I could get some ideas on how to stop some recent aggression with one of my cats. Here is the story in full: I have an indoor community of six kitties (all altered) that have been living together in harmony for as long as they've been a group. One of my cats has...
