This is a great thread.
Simba is a real piece of work.
He will walk in front of you and cut you off as you are trying to go somewhere.
He gets under the bed and then jumps out to scare you.
He has a "girlfriend" a blanket that he carries in his mouth and has his way with in front of people...
I have two girls who are littermates and they used to pal around with each other but now they act like they are just cats in the same household. They fight (only occasionally - old ladies bicker) and sometimes clean each other but they never sleep together anymore. In fact if Lily is sleeping...
When I brought in Simba and once he got used to everything, he started attacking my older girls. He was (and sometimes still is) brutal and mean. We tried everything, from sedatives to more litter pans. Finally I had to go old school and just started punishing him. If he attacked the others...
I was born in Montclair, NJ and raised in Lake Parsippany until I was 14. We moved to Syracuse, NY and I stayed there until I was 26. Then I moved to Connecticut where I still live. I think about moving back to upstate NY, its definitely cheaper than CT.
I sing to my bears all the time. I sing to Jasmine:
Ometer, barometer, ometer barometer bear.
Her nickname is ometer which is short for chunkometer, but lately its been ommie or omlette.
I know, I am gone
I have had two experiences with this. Lily had done this for a while and she did well on doses of prednisone which increaseed her appetite and kept her swelling down. She had some form of lupus. I read that if a cat doesn't eat or drink, its body starts to shut itself down. :-(
Slash had...
Simba and Lily do this occasionally. They get their "tails in a bunch" and make weird noises. Sometimes they tear up and down the hallway too. Simba has a girlfriend blanket that he has his way with as well. Sometimes they are just lonely and want to be picked up or they see an animal...
Wow, I just serve my cats Friskies, 9-Lives and Figaro. They seem to enjoy it a lot.
I tried some diet dry cat food once (Science Diet Light) but the heaviest cat just ate three times as much of the dry food LOL.
I gave this to both Jasmine and Simba when I was having major integration problems. It made Simba much more crankier and did nothing for Jasmine's anxiety. I had to get it at a regular pharmacy and it was expensive. I heard it does work in some cases.
Jasmine did this after the baby was born. She always sleeps next to me but after the baby was born she (and the others) didn't appreciate the crying intruder and so they sulked for a while. As things got back to normal, she returned to the bed and now she is back to sleeping with me. It took...
What kind of toothpaste. Simba goes NUTS over anything with mint in it. I have this Gold's Medication Lotion and he will lick anything that has it on it. Weird kitty.
Hello,
I am a new member, I saw this site from another forum and so far I like what I see. My name is Mary and I have three cats, Lily (Black DSH 13yo), Jasmine (Black DSH 13yo) and Simba (Orange Tabby 7 yo). I also had a cat that passed away about 5 years ago named Slash (Tabby). He was a...
