Wow! Thank you everyone for the replies. I wasn't expecting so many responses.
Roman is 2 years old (next month that is). I kinda figured that the method shown in the video wasn't the best option as it seemed far too convenient and I would never feed Roman that much seafood with her bladder...
Good Evening All!
A quick back story on my fur-baby.
Roman was taken to the emergency clinic back in September of 2013 with UTI with no crystals. This was the first instance of any medical issues I have had with her. Upon further research lack of hydration from a low grade strictly dry food...
I know this isn't my thread but I thought I'd try to ask instead of bogging down the forums with another thread. Do the soft paws prevent accidental scratching on furniture? And if they are chewed off and consumed are they dangerous to the cat?
I found out that petsmart has a 60 day return policy on all of their items regardless of the reason. I'm pretty excited about that, i'm going to pick up a stainless steel bowl right away. Thanks for all the tips guys. Truly appreciated :)
I am washing the fountain weekly as I have noticed it tends to get rather grungy. I bought the fountain from petsmart but none of the filters seem to fit for it. Serves me right for buying cheap. So I guess most probably the water isn't clean enough for her? I want to try a stainless steel one...

So, my cat Roman was just diagnosed with FLUTD on Sunday evening. She was eating a strictly Wellness brand dry diet (I know now that it is bad to feed...
This is Roman her eyes haven't changed since she was a baby they are a really sweet ice blue. The lighting is terrible in this picture but it's the best one I have readily available. :)
Roman is a 1 and half year old kitty cat that I adore! She is an only child. Oddly enough when she was a baby she was completely white with the exception of her tail and over the past year brown stripes and spots have popped up everywhere!
I look forward to meeting ya'll :)
Melissa
Thanks for your reply vball91
I will definitely be calling the vet's office tomorrow to get my hands on a copy of the urinalysis.
Fingers crossed that this weekend goes smoothly for her.
