Well you can leave money to the person and not the cat. So you really have to trust that they’ll keep the nest egg for the cat. And you can set up a trust, but then someone has to manage it and it probably wouldn‘t be big enough to be worth it.
I have no idea where to put this, but I'll try here. I have four cats, am in my sixties, but in good health, but unfortunately there's no one to take care of my cats if something happens to me. Pet trusts only work if you have a caretaker. It's starting to limit my willingness to do things...
Thank you so much for asking. Daisy is doing wonderfully, though she hasn’t gotten any less skittish. We are allowed to brush her if she is lying on her bed in the bathroom (there’s a bench in there) and I can close the door. She gets 50 brush strokes on each side and some petting. She purrs...
Hi I'm just going to post this video. This is what my cat did for years and I always thought it was hairballs like the creator does. What made me realize it wasn't was switching to lightweight litter and the dust pushed these attacks into overdrive.
What cat asthma looks like
I'm late to the party here, but I'll offer my experience. AFter I got the diagnosis, I got rid of all the rugs in the house, bought two heavy duty air purifiers and switched to crystal litter. HIs attacks decreased to almost none and he never had to go on an inhaler.
The problem of course is...
Here she is with her best friend. Under the table is her safe spot. So far she won’t jump up on the furniture even though there are cat beds all over the place. Anyway, she has her buddy and they play up a storm so I think she’s very content. It’s great to not have to worry about her...
Daisy is the stray who spent last winter in my garage, that I trapped and got inside in April, spent six weeks in my kitchen before I could get her in a carrier and (finally) joined the family in May. Daisy luvvvvs other cats, so she is happy as can be with her new companions. I still can't...
OK, here’s the latest. When she has free reign of the upstairs she hides under the bed or in some other nook and I can’t pet her. When we have playtime she takes her place in the circle but that’s from under the bed. If she comes and sits on the window ledge she heads back under the bed if...
Well surprise, surprise. She heard me fixing breakfast for the other three and came out to join us. Well tentatively at first and then came over to her food bowl and sniffed it. Then she turned her nose up at the Friskies wet and headed for another cat’s dish with the Purina Pro Plan. He’s...
I think that all sounds very plausible. This has been a good reality-adjustment for me. I’ve taken in three adult cats from the yard now and never had to do much to socialize any of them. I don’t think I really appreciated what some of the rescuers put out in terms of patience and effort.
Sorry, I went through similar with my cat and it was awful. We had a independent pet food store here that had raw turkey/rabbit food in it’s freezer section - it was packaged like ground beef, but had all the other stuff added into it for complete nutrition. By some miracle he ate it. (My...
She finally ate her usual amount for dinner. Also came out for our group playtime this morning. She won’t come and eat with the other cats though, I still have to bring the food to her. When she was outside she would come when I called her, meowing all the way.
I do think she’s still...
There was no more shivering later in the day. Perhaps she was just afraid of my Mom - though my Mom is not intimidating in the least. I’ve never seen her shiver after my Dad pets her, but he’s been over here quite a bit to try and help socialize her. I know she feels better because she’s back...
Believe me, my conscious was on the fence as to whether to say anything at all for the reasons you cite, but the DIY catheritization/herbs advice made me decide the best bad choice was to offer her that information.
I did read the whole thread, but I have to go back and look at the timeline...
If you google blocked cat or crystals in cats you will see. If they sedated him to pass the catheter and couldn‘t his bladder will continue to fill and his kidneys will start to back up and shut down. I’m sorry I didn’t see if you said they emptied his bladder with needle or not. That buys...
