Chowder is having his first dental next week and they're estimating about five extractions. The vet said she wanted to be proactive and pull any that look like they could worsen in the next few months.
My question is, what's the deal with these dental foods? I have recently transitioned...
Hi everyone. First off, thank you so much for your support in the previous thread I made about Chowder's ear and eye problems and the vet's mixed up records. The old thread can be seen here if you need to catch up: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/272709/really-annoyed-at-the-vet-would-love-advice...
Hi everybody. I haven't posted here in a while, but felt compelled to post about this.
Day before yesterday, I noticed a lot of clear discharge coming out of Chowder's right eye and it was slightly red around the outside. I thought maybe he got some debris in there off the floor and rinsed...
I put a collar on Chowder not too long ago. All has gone quite well, but it's getting kind of ratty from him scratching it. Any recommendations of more durable collars for cats? His is just a basic nylon one from Petsmart. (SafeCat brand)
Chowder had some eye gunk (reddish brown) during the summer and when I asked about it I was told it was probably due to dust in the house or seasonal allergies. It's still there! Could this be herpes virus?
I live in a very old two family home. It was built in 1913. Thus, the windows are the draftiest things ever. The worst window is right above the couch, which incidentally is Chowder's favorite hangout/sleep spot.
Where could I buy a super warm and thick but on the cheaper side blanket? I want...
I'm a horrible impulse buyer. Anyone else do this?
Things I impulse buy are:
Makeup and makeup related items
(just today I bought an $80 Inglot train case)
Cat food
Cat toys
Gifts for my fiancé for no occasion
Home decor stuff
I'm not in debt because of it or...
I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone else feeds in rotation (or 24/7). Not to say if the food is good or bad, but just for fun.
Also, that way if someone sees a food listed they haven't heard of or that they have questions about, they could ask that person for feedback or...
I've noticed that sometimes when Chowder is sitting on the couch with me I can hear him breathing. It doesn't sound like he's in pain. It's ever so slightly weezy, like when people lightly snore.
He eats well, is very vocal, playful, and active. Do you think I'm being paranoid or should I take...
Chowder is nuts for catnip toys. Even more than interactive toys. What are your cat's favorites?
Chowder loves:
Yeowww Catnip Banana
Kong Kickeroo
Petco Catnip Lobster
I've been thinking more and more lately about if I should get Chowder microchipped and have him wear a collar. He's an indoor only cat, I'm on the second floor of a two family home, and he's never made any attempt to get out. I still feel like if he were to one day somehow get out of the house...
I was looking more closely at Chowder's back paws today and noticed yet again that his two middle claws look brown on the underneath side. When I first got him I thought he had some kind of dust buildup of something and he wasn't grooming since he wouldn't let me touch him and I could never see...
What are your favorite cat trees that don't cost an arm and a leg? I have come to realize Chowder doesn't really have any "lookout" spots in the house and I think he would be happy with a cat tree.
I Googled and did a search of the forum here and came up with almost nothing. Is this okay food? I wish there was more information on it and I'm nervous about feeding it to Chowder if it's not a good food.
At $23 for 24 5.5oz cans it's an amazing deal. I'd love to get some feedback.
Thanks!
Chowder is 2 years old and according to my vet he is in great health at the moment. I was wondering if other people with FIV+ cats could weigh in on what they feed their cats. I'm currently on a very, very small budget as I work for Starbucks as a barista, but am currently applying for better...
I'm brand new to the Cat Site and a fairly new companion to an awesome rescue cat. I really hope to learn a lot here and be the best cat parent I can be.
I adopted my wonderful kitty, Chowder, from a rescue one of my good friends runs back in April. I went with her to her vet to help her walk...
