Thanks for you replies. You're giving me too much credit though, I wasn't completely innocent of what went on I just had no idea how grim the outlook was and knowing what I know now, I would have been too embarrassed to bring him in the first place. I'll have to live with my poor decision. They...
My one cat hopefully didn't cross the rainbow bridge but he isn't in our house anymore.
2 weeks ago I took him back to shelter we got him at. He was around 8 years old and spraying everywhere and we got him a year ago.
The adoption policy said if you can't care for him to return him and I...
I'm still trying to figure out the logic behind where my cat sprayed and why. He never sprayed the bathrooms, kitchen or our bedroom, but he sprayed in the office, future nursery, hallway, living room, dining room and basement. We did have another cat and i think there was territorial
issues...
Yeah I'd start by cleaning the litter box every day. My cat peed on the floor when his got too dirty. I saw something about puppy pads. At least that's what i think they are called.
They are like diapers for the floor.
That's awesome! Any idea how much that enclosure cost you in materials? I'm guessing the climate during the winter isn't too much of a concern in Georgia?
The other think to remember is that when you first notice, they were already feeding off the cat and multiplying. But once you start attacking them they run out of food and can't multiply. Good luck though. It will take a couple weeks until you are comfortable walking around again. First two are...
I dealt with fleas last year. We have all wood floors, but the eggs still fall in the cracks and hatch for months afterwards. The pupa stage is the tough part. Those things are tough and impenetrable with poison i believe. Vacuuming and spraying will eventual starve the adult, egg and larva...
Thank you for your condolences. It was, and on top of that I handled it extremely poorly. I really hope the shelter wasn't lying when they said he got adopted and I hope to see him again someday.
Bottom picture was his last night with us.
Also,
Having a cat before a baby might make the cat feel slighted. It will be the baby of the house for 6 months and then the amount of attention
you can shower it with will drop drastically once your newborn arrives. Allergies might be something else to think about.
I'm hoping that won't be...
I think you may want to have the baby first and get the cat a little later when things settle down. I've started looking into all the stuff you should do to prep a cat for a new baby and it sounds like a new home and then a baby a few months later could be stressful for it? I don't have a whole...
My cat and former cat were the same way. Buddha loves crumpled paper balls, paper bags and the wire twist ties in the produce section of the supermarket. Those will keep her busy for about 3 minutes by herself before they end up under the couch and she loses interest. Even when she could easily...
In my experience that cats were pretty good providing that you gave them options and kept them dusted in catnip.
The male was very good and only 1 time did I find him scratching furniture. Our female likes the carpet or the top of one of our Ikea chair, but
she'll use the scratch lounge If I...
Hi everyone. Just introducing our former cat Jack (the black one) and Buddha the chocolate point. We've owned the chocolate point for around ten years now and when we moved into our first house last year we decided to pick her up a companion in the hopes that he would keep her company. Having...
