I just noticed that Duncan has a pink tummy. And, I've had him for a couple of years. Recently, he's let me rub his tummy, and he will lay upside down on top of me when I do. It's the MOST endearing thing.
I suppose my question isn't how fast cat hair grows back, but why you would shve your cat in the first place (if not for spaying)? I've thought several times about shaving Duncan, but not seriously. However, if it's not going to hurt him, I might think more eriously about it for the summer...
Duncan's behavioral eccentricities run the gammet. From his 'pulling' me away from the computer, to kneading my chest while sleeping, to following me everywhere (and I do mean everywhere) seemingly as to not miss anything exciting. There are three males living in our house...me, Mike, and of...
Would this work with introducing a new cat to an old? A friend of mine has just brought Tofu (a seven month old kitten) home and Wasabi (a ten month old) is going crazy. If you think it might help bring the war to an end, I'll suggest it.
Thanks!
I'm seriously considering either purchasing or building a cat tree/hotel for Duncan. Any suggestions on height and materials? Also, of those of you who have these contraptions, do your cat/cats actually use them?
Thanks for you input!
Jim
I'm going to start leash training Duncan, but I've heard that collars can sometimes be harmful to a cat's neck. Do I need to invest in a different kind of harness, if I'm going to be using a leash?
Thanks!
Jim
A freind of mine and I, who were both sans Valentines this year, decided that we would celebrate Single Awareness Day instead. We went to dinner and even got each other condolance cards. It was great fun!!
I love it when Duncan kneads me. I have a friend who had surgery recently and his docotr told him that if he could to get his cat to knead his scar (it would make it go away much quicker).
Duncan kneads my stomach, and recently has begun to knead my shoulders. It's like having a personal...
When I was in highschool, my family made a moce from Oklahoma City to St. Louis, MO. Two days after we got into our new house, Patches (a four year old calico) got out and was no where to be found. After looking for two weeks, we finally gave up and thought she'd either been adopted by another...
Duncan gets half a can of food along with his dry food about once every other day. Most of the time, he'd rather eat the dry than the canned. His prior owner gave him half a can in the monrning and evening, but since he's come to live with me, he doesn't seem to want it as much.
Okay, he's doing it right now. First he greows (growl/meows). His ears are forward (not back, like when he's ticked about somthing), he bats at my lower arm and hand, until I give him my attention. When I reach for him, he bites only above the hand. This could be important, as when we play...
This is Duncan. He's 17 months old and even though he doesn't look it in this picture, I very playful kitty. Just wanted to make a quick post to introduce you to Duncan.
Take care,
Jim
My Duncan has worn a collar since he came to live with me. He stays inside all the time, so I suupose he could go without one. I recently got him one with a bell on it. Not that he needs it. Duncan purrs constantly. There's no way that he could sneak up on anyone, you can hear his purr in...
