Comprehensive cat food poll - what do you feed your cats?

The vet recently put Amber on c/d diet - canned and dry c/d. Prior to that she was an Iams cat.

    How clear can cats see!!

I'm not really sure. I know Amber has very good eye sight. Last month she saw a small drop tail lizard on my bedroom wall. She can also see mice in amongst the rubbish/leaves/twigs we have down the back. My Mum says cats can see the colour red though + have better night vision than humans.

    Lizard attack this morning!

Aww - last month my Mum was putting Amber on my bed as she was settling down she said her eyes just about popped out of her head. Trying to figue out what she was looking at - on the wall was one of those drop tail lizards - what sharp eyes Amber has - certainly loved her for this - if she...

Do you feed canned catf food to your cat?

We feed Amber canned/wet food for dinner - 98% of the time fish flavour. During the day it's dry food.

    Do you have a favorite?

We (parents & I) only have 1 cat - though, we also have a greyhound... and feel so bad in saying Amber is my favourite. But give them attention/love equally.

    Squirt: Teenage advocate?

Exactly what my cat has done over the years - sits on top of my books - or plays with my pens and knocks them on the ground. Very distracting.

What do you feed your cat?

Mum buys Amber Iams - rarely now - she really loves them. Most of the time we feed her Whiskas Cravers. Her canned food (Dine) which she is really picky about, well we usually give her something in a sauce, seafood flavours - doesn't really like the chicken/beef flavours anymore.

How young is too young for light food?

Sorry to drop in like this. Sicycat, does that apply to older cats too? My Mum buys our cat (now 4)Iams a fair bit - anyway she loves the Iams so much that she keeps coming in to eat more during the day - of course she started gaining weight so now if Mum buys Iams she'll buy diet Iams. Our...

    Cats and mice!

Thank you everyone for the replies. I don't think bringing the mice inside is going to stop any time soon - in fact our cat (parents & I) brought another mouse inside this morning, unfortunately I think the mouse is still inside. Hmmm, I certainly don't remember our first cat ever bringing mice...

    Cats and mice!

Thank-you. My Mum insists it is normal too. Was telling me it's more common for females (dogs and cats) to bring their prey inside - like showing it off. I think we may need to try the bell on her collar, she is doing a lot of 'hunting' lately. Only thing is she succeeds in taking her collar off...
