I agree that it looks like an ear tip. I have 5 tipped cats outside and the amount taken off varied. It looked as if almost half the ear was cut off on a couple of them while just the tip was taken in others, but they all healed up and are happy and healthy 2 years later. 

She reminds me of the youngest "kitten" in the musical Cats whose name is Jemima. However, if she were my kitten, I would drop the i and call her Jemma.  Little tortie gem. :)

Thank you for the reply. I gave them the Revolution this morning but held off on the Profender until I was sure. I really wanted to get the Revolution on them to protect them from fleas, ear mites, heartworm,  roundworms and hookworms.  I would really like to treat them for tapeworm as well...
