I am giving her 2/3 s/d and 1/3 c/d.....we are transitioning to Hills c/d . I did tell the vet and she said as  long as the prescription diet was 2/3 of her main food....we would see how she did. How did your vet do a urinalysis?  I am trying to catch a sample on my own....I did once before.

How long should you use Hills S/d? I am giving my cat 1/4 dry s/d becuase she will not eat the wet. I am mixing Friskies special diet with Newmans Own 2-3 x a day....canned food. I just dont think she should be on c/d or s/d for long. I have already read the catinfo.org. has anybody just did...

I have gotten her urine sample .....mid stream. So doing strips would be easy. I think I might try that.

Oh the vet wants to do it........but I am nervous about it. She is very anxious when she goes to the vet. Last time they had to use a little gas to do her annual physical.....but she did fine and recovery time is almost instant

She has only been on the s/d for 6 weeks. I am waiting for a urinalysis culture results......she has an elevated white count and a PH of 7.5. We had switched her to maintenance Hills c/d, but when we saw the elevated PH she went back on the s/d a week ago.

I have actually corresponded (briefly ) with Dr Peirson who is catinfo.org. But my vet is here......so I will use the s/d and wait and see if her PH lowers. I have water bowls all over the house and I mix water with their canned food. I have a small water fountain also.....they drink from there...

My cat is 14 and she is in very good health except for her teeth. She has lost a couple but her teeth are in bad shape. I just am not sure if it is safe to anesthetize her to clean/acess her teeth.  Any thoughts ?

I would have a vet look also. There is a thing called nasal mites....maybe he is scratching there.

She needs to be seen by the vet. She is too young for you to expeirment with. Dehydration,diarrhea and third eyelid do not sound good. Please take her today.
