I would take him back to the vet and have them at the least do an X-ray of the abdomen(check for masses or a blockage). And also a fecal, esp if he goes outside or has not been de wormed. If he's not drinking he's probably dehydrated and would need subcutaneous fluids. The dr can give him an...
The kitty is eating today! She ate a bunch of dry food in the morning. And again for lunch. Leaping around, seems to be back to normal. If it was an infection the antibiotics worked, her temperature was 101.8 this morning. I also gave her the dewormer last night, so not sure which one...
The kitty is acting a bit normal today, however still not eating, but drinking lots. I gave her the dewormer tonight. Hopefully that will make a difference tomorrow. She did eat about 3 mouthfuls of dry food. So atleast it's some nutrients and she is not dehydrated. :rbheart:
Poor girl is probably so infested, shame on me for not treating her sooner, knowing she hunts mice. I will Definetly add dewormer to her regular regime after this. I guess I should deworm my min pin that sleeps with her?
Nope, no congestion, no discharge of any kind. She just drank alittle water on her own. I gave her the second round of antibiotics. I hate not knowing. :(
This all happened today, hoping tomorrow I will find she has eaten some of her food. Would a roundworm infestation cause a fever? The tech said no, but all the other symptoms fit with roundworms.
So I called the vet, the worms were identified as RoundWorm which can cause all of the symptoms she is experiencing except the fever. Recommendation is to continue to administer antibiotics and hold off on the dewormer since its not as serious as an infectin tha could be causing the high temp...
Ok, I put her outside and she took a 30 minute stroll around the woods, and squatted and scratched to cover it up. I gave her 3ml syringe of wet food. I guess I should repeat in a little. In the meantime I found a small pile of vomit foamy, with two strands of grass and some weird stringy off...
I do have wet food, I also have a syringe, so I am going to try that right now. I have an enclosed area for the dog, and she usually goes thru the dog door into the woods, it snowed last night and there were several pee spots in the snow, although I don't know for sure one if one of the spots...
I took notice on Sunday that my 2 year old feral kitty turned house cat wasn't eating her food. By Monday night I noticed how sleepy she was and still hadn't touched her food. I sat with her monday night (yesterday) and she ate about 3 mouthfuls of dry food, and drank for about a minute...
