    Please help--cat won't take meds

Jake got an antibiotic injection today so we'll see how that goes. The vet did not like the idea of the calming gel--it has chamomile and passion flower, and he said many flowers are toxic to cats and don't work the same in cats as in people. I wish I'd never given it to him but I was desperate...

    Please help--cat won't take meds

I thought of that, but since he has coughing issues and coughs/chokes easily,  I don't think shooting the pill down would be good for him.

    Please help--cat won't take meds

Update...I got him to take it yesterday by mixing it  it with a calming gel...but it only worked once. Last night he wouldn't touch it, which might be a good thing because he as been really lethargic and sleepy since the first dose. He hasn't eaten in almost 24 hours. It may have sedated him too...

    Please help--cat won't take meds

Thanks, Brooke. I've had cats for years and have been able to pill the others with no major issues--just rolled it in butter and down it went. This guy is feisty though, and a little ball of muscle. I'm on my way to buy a pill shooter...wish me luck!

New Kitties and need food help please!

I'm sorry, I was joking...guess that doesn't always come across in print! Although you wouldn't believe (or maybe you would) how many people say, "When they're hungry enough, they'll eat!" No, they won't...they're not dogs... Thanks for your help!

New Kitties and need food help please!

Thanks everyone! They are eating their Purina Pro Plan kitten food (canned), so please don't think I am starving them! I did try mixing in a little of the new with the old and gradually increasing it, but they refused it when it got to about 50/50. Same texture (pate) and flavors, so who knows...

New Kitties and need food help please!

Hi everyone! I am the proud mom of two  6-month-old brothers, Jake & Elwood. (I previously had littermates who lived to 16 & 18 -- still miss them every day!) Anyway, my guys are currently eating Purina Pro Plan Kitten canned and I am trying to switch them to canned grain-free, but they are not...
