Perhaps try to arrange some play time together. If they play together, they can positively associate each other with fun and also have the cats direct their extra energy towards the toy and not to each other. Eating together and close to each other is also a good way to promote positive association.
My cat used to do that too but as he grows older he stopped. Now, he only bites if you touch a spot that he doesn't like. And is your cat still not neutered? If that's the case, you should get him fixed ASAP because nipping is nothing compare to being overly aggressive and spraying all over your...
That sounds like a really good idea too, Freedom! Thanks. Now with all your suggestions, I guess my cat should have a less stressful time staying at home :)
Thanks, Kieka for the quick response! I'm grateful that my cat doesn't play with toilet papers or chew on wires or play with the curtain. So I guess I'm good with leaving him to a sitter!
Hi everyone,
I'm planning to go on vacation In November. I'm wondering if it's ok that I leave my cat at home for that duration with dependable family members/cat sitter come in twice a day to feed him, clean his litter box and play with him.
Does anyone have any experience with leaving a cat...
Hi everyone,
I'm considering giving my cat raw chicken gizzards twice a week for his teeth so I don't need to devise a strategy to catch him off guard for a brush (yes, he has now figured out precisely when I'm about to grab him for a brush and tries to make a run for it). Because you can't...
Hi everyone,
I just took my cat to the vet this past Saturday for an annual check-up. This is the first time I've brought the cat to a vet and I know it's time to bring him because his record shows his last visit was August of 2012. He's currently 1.5 years old.
So at the vet, some blood...
I'm feeding performatrin ultra does anyone find them to be good? I also feed EVO. The reason I feed those is because they come in 13oz can which lowers cost.
Other than those 2 I also feed a can of hounds and gatos rabbit per week just so my cat can get different kinds of protein once a while...
I'd really like to know if feeding the cat raw chicken wings would put the cat into a bigger risk of contracting worms or diseases?
I'm very interested in feeding raw chicken wings (maybe once or twice a week?) for dental reasons but i'm worried about worms and diseases.
I feed a wide variety of food and I feed 100% canned.
Here's what I feed now:
- Performatrin Ultra Chicken, Turkey
- EVO for cats and kittens (chicken and turkey)
- merrick's chicken pate and turkey pate (used to feed cowboy's cookout and grammy's potpie but they changed formula it's no...
Not sure if anyone here feeds Merrick's cat food but it seems like they're combing their classic and before grain lines and the formula seems to have gotten worst.
According to the food composition chart at catinfo.org, Merrick's Cowboy cookout and Grammy's pot pie have pretty good %...
Even with chosing Pate, you still have to be careful. I would choose those that lists a type of meat as its first ingredient. I would also avoid those with sodium nitrite in it. If it's bad for humans, I can't imagine it'd be good for cats.
Try giving your cat the fish flavor to lure him to eat the wet food. Cats tend to be drawn to fish easier than any other kinds of meat. However, from then on, you might have to make another transition from fish to non-fish food as contaminant in fish is likely to cause urinary tract disease (if...
I've just had my cat for 5 months now. All's been well until lately I've been waking up with a runny nose and congestion. Also when the cat scratches me even without drawing blood, the skin reddens and the site of the scratch seems to be slightly elevated.
Am I developing cat allergies or is it...
I would then conclude it's airball because I sniffed at it and it doesn't smell one bit. Anyway, this really makes my day. Had it been a litterbox problem it will be much more complicated.
Having said that, I will continue to monitor him.
Thanks for the reply everyone!
